It's so true... I tried to get around the wedding planning test by "planning" an elopement, just to be tricked into this application relationship test - D'OH! At least we're not having to go down the test of "how to cope with utter depression from only receiving rejections" - I don't think he'd be ready for THAT version of me.

Ha, you guys are awesome I'm going crazy - I was at work when a school tried to call me... and I'm fairly certain it was about whether or not I'm accepted. Now I don't know, and I COULD have! Ugh, I was even stalker-like, emailing AND calling... despite it being after office hours. Pleeeeeease call me back, even though it's late! Pleeeeeeease!

I'm still waiting to hear from most of my schools... probably two more weeks before I'll know

Most of mine don't even have a thing like that for the status. It just says I submitted an application... then nada. And no matter how many times I go on there, the "Congratulations!" before "you have successfully submitted your application" makes me think I've gotten in. I think Apply Yourself in general is ruining my life, with 5 of my applications being on there.

I know - look what they've done to us! I also get paranoid that they all know I'm on here and read my posts... and then I get super paranoid and get worried that someone from Maryland sees that I got all excited for my semi-official acceptance and will take it back out of spite. Maybe this whole process is some kind of horrible conspiracy to make the US's "best and brightest" into simpering puddles of crazy goop. Serves us right for wanting higher education!

I'm definitely getting on the crazier side - finally have a day off work and it's much harder when I have free time! I know I still have a couple weeks for most, and I'm not totally off my rocker because I did get good news from two places, but... I haven't heard anything about funding from either two, and my Maryland acceptance doesn't feel official (as it was practically a footnote in an email). So of course I'm starting even to doubt that I've heard from those schools too! Yes, I am really good at self-doubt. Come oooooooon and give us some news, people!

Ha. We don't call them that? I spent the past five years abroad, and I kinda forget some of the phrases... like how I feel weird saying "college" instead of "uni/university"

Yeah my undergrad never gave us off bank holidays. But no mail I work in a bar right now, so I tend to forget days and stuff like that. I basically just know based on our drink specials and whether or not it's Sunday for mail, ha. I'll forgive the pun, because it would have been sad not to use that opportunity.

Oh, I just realized it's President's Day, so of course there's no mail. Sigh... probably not getting any news today then...

I hate getting all excited to check my mail on Monday to find NOTHING. So much worse than the other days of finding nothing, with the extra day of waiting thrown in there...

I don't think they are - I haven't received anything official. Like I said, it was a part of an email asking me for my Peace Corps paperwork since I applied to both of UMD's fellowships. Honestly, I'm still having a hard time believing it since it was written so casually! I think the official notices will come this week; I"ll let you know when/if I get that.

I was wondering about the "apply yourself" sites - where does it show the decision once it's been made? Under the "Check Application Status" link, or maybe that sidebar that right now says "Your application has been submitted for review" or whatever? Most of my schools are through this program, but I'm not really sure how it works come decision time. Thanks!

Nothing has been updated online - I had applied for the Peace Corps Coverdell Fellows, and so I received an email asking for my Description of Service. In that email, they wrote "First, I would like to congratulate you because we have recommended your admission to our MPP program."

I got my acceptance tonight by email

I just now got an acceptance email from Maryland MPP.. It's slightly different I think than the normal admitted email (especially since I though Maryland's decisions would be by post) since it was to ask me for a copy of my DOS for the Peace Corps Fellows consideration. Super excited, and glad to have some good news for the weekend

Well, I bought a cheap-but-not-too-cheap bottle of champagne for tonight, since it's my day off work this week and I got my first acceptance on Tuesday... also had a good interview today, so celebrating a little bit. When I make the decision of which school I"m going to (which will hopefully be just that, a decision) a nice bottle will be had Just a few more weeks...
