    Buffalo, NY

I have been accepted to SUN"Y Buffalo, M. Sc. in Physics. I Plan to rent a unit in the North Campus Apartments (Flint Village, specifically). It costs too much ($825, including utilities), but that's because I am not used to live in a room with someone I don't know. Also I need my only bath, that's why I can't go to doubles which are cheaper...
  2. Took the test on 22/10/2011 (paper based) Q: 163 (88% = shit) V: 151 (51% = shit) AWA: 4.5 (72%) I am screwed up, no engineering college will accept me with that law Q score. Shit.
  3. I am applying for EE or Physics, so yes, I can help. PM me please (but I hope you will be able to review my own SoP too).
  4. OKAY, even if you are not a physics graduate, its okay to help
  5. Hi !! I am applying for Quantum Computing (Physics or ECE) so sure, I can help you But please do the same... Waiting your PM...
  6. Hi all, I have a SoP for applying to Masters in Physics, in the USA. I would be happy if any one who has studied a closely related field (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, EE, CS, etc) could review it. I will be ready to review your own SoP. Thanks !
  7. I think that you should go and mention that. As you said, it show a good character. I myself mentioned working part time (in addition to working full time) after graduation (But I am applying to Masters, not PhD, I do not know if that matters)
  8. All of the comments are really helpful. Thanks. I decided that I will keep the footer with its two citations intact. I know that will take a valuable space, but hey, my SoP is not that long anyway (I plan for less than 700 words). Plus it really shows that I do read accredited journals, which I think is a good sign.
  9. what exactly do you mean by "scholary work" ? I want to cite journals and technical magazines (IEEE etc)
  10. Hey, I am applying for physics so maybe I could help you. How about reviewing your SoP mutually between us ?
  11. Your profile seems strong. I think (not 100% sure) that is will still be difficult for you with Stanford and Berkeley. The rest seems more affordable.
  12. I am a communication engineering graduate, so probably I can help. Send it to me via PM. But please be ready (after one month) to review my SoP. It will be about Physics (not very fart apart).
  13. Hi, Sorry if this was asked before, I couldn't find it elsewhere. So in my SoP I will mention a magazine article that inspired me a lot. I will mention its title. Should I add a footer and write the full article name, magazine no., vol., year, page, etc as if you were writing a paper? Ali
  14. I see. I think, then, that I should prepare at least 1500 USD for the ticket when I, hopefully, got accepted... If anyone knows similar cases / scenarios / details please share.
  15. Hello, I often see people posting there results, something like "funding: TA 23,000 per 9 months + 3,000 research" Now I was wondering, if I got accepted from a university with funding, does this funding covers my airplane ticket? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but for me, it really matters (the ticket costs at least 1500 USD !!) -Ali
