I'm heading to UMich! Going to the accepted students visit next weekend, nervous and excited!

I got official notification from BU that my application (due Jan 1) was incomplete and not considered. Since I submitted my application Dec. 26th and got completion confirmation, I'm pretty annoyed. I've emailed them and I definitely want my application fee returned, since apparently my application wasn't even considered.

Really? This is actually not what I want to hear! I have already accepted my Yale rejection is imminent and moved on to getting psyched for where I DID get in. Now I have to deal with the fact that it's not over yet? We just can't win, you guys!

Forgot to say my unofficial rejection from my undergrad advisor/POI was Harvard (archaeology) and he said official notification will be out really soon.

Finally heard from Ned at Berkeley, it was a no but I'm not shocked. I also emailed my undergraduate advisor and he told me I didn't get into there either, which is more of a blow since I'm actually on campus now visiting my brother so I was really hoping I'd be back in the fall. My last unknown that I'm still interested in is Yale which is almost certainly a no, but that's fine since I do have Michigan and I'm very excited about it!

My SO needs to submit his location preferences for TFA by oh, yesterday? If I don't hear anything new today he is going to have to submit without complete information and if I then end up getting in to a better school he will have to give up that sure-thing job and join the unemployed masses to be with me. This thoroughly SUCKS. Dear schools, I know you know if you want me or not. Hurry your rears up and tell me please! Some major life decisions are hanging in the balance here and the way you are toying with us is just cruel.

Frustrated because my SO needs to make a major career decision TOMORROW and it all depends on where I get in... why can't I know right now?!

Harvard tops the list of schools most likely to get fake posts. I doubt it's real since they have only mailed results in the past.

Do you mind if I ask your source on that? If this is true I'm a bit put out, not because I didn't get in but because I would have expected at least a note from my undergrad advisor there letting me know.

I haven't heard anything. The result says it was an informal email so I think it was just something they got. That said, I'm starting to think those of us who haven't heard a peep out of cal are not going to hear good things at this point.

Hermione transferred. She couldn't take it anymore when people were shouting "ten points for Gryffindor!" in her classes after she answered questions. No, really. People did that.

Well, my Good Omen turned out to be true! Back story on this, my boyfriend is a big fan of Jason Segel, and often jokingly compares us as couple to Lily and Marshall on How I Met Your Mother. Then, he watched The Five Year Engagement, in which (spoilers!) Jason Segel follows fiance Emily Blunt to University of Michigan for her post doc, only to be miserable and unfulfilled in Ann Arbor. After difficulties lasting 5 years/the length of the movie, depending on your perspective, he gets a food truck and happily ever after commences. So after watching this, the boyfriend texts to say "Problem solved! If you get into UMichigan I don't need to find a job there, I'm getting a food truck." The omen was that that VERY day, I had watched a show in which a character gets a food truck. Now, my boyfriend and this character share a key characteristic, which I won't mention in case someone reading this recognizes us (I'm an archaeologist + description of my boyfriend = not that many people to choose from). So ANYHOW, I was like YES it's a sign, us in Ann Arbor was meant to be. Only, let's find you something to do other than a food truck. It's just a plot device here. ANYHOW this has been the running joke for weeks until FINALLY, today I got in to University of Michigan! TL;DR - YOU GUYS, ALL THESE SIGNS WE HAVE BEEN SEEING EVERYWHERE ARE TOTALLY REAL.

I got into Michigan! Archaeology. I know from results there are a few of us on here, so congrats to everyone. I am SO excited to get an acceptance!

The results boards are driving me nuts more than anything else. I keep seeing results from schools I applied to, but for different subdisciplines... Archaeology professors, please get it together and let me know, one way or the other!

For the Yale interviewee that posted on the results board, are you social anthro or...?
