  1. Congrats...yes it was mentioned in the admission letter. It said something like " I am also pleased to inform you have been selected for merit based...." Not sure whether they are following any particular path in these notifications.
  2. Strange..didn't get any notification but checked the online portal and the decision was available. Got accepted with 10$ tuition aid per year ... not sure whether it is enough but I'll think abt that tomorrow..today I celebrate
  3. Since they have fewer seats than SAIS et al, they would have fewer admits ... I don't understand why cant they send the decision notofication all at once , when other institutes can...well
  4. Yessss ! Feels great to be in SAIS .. however there was no mention of my intended concentration (ERE) in the decision letter. Has anyone received any details abt their concentration except of course for those who applied into Idev BTW i am an Indian national and got admitted into DC campus..
  5. Nope.. I don't expect anything before Friday
  6. Congrats on ur admit. ..and yes MSFS is due on 15th March. Not sure whether they will release the whole admit list at once or in gradual manner...can someone please clarify?
  7. I'm an Indian national too and the reason why i asked because it was good to see someone in India aware of these programs. I am appalled by the lack of knowledge (in India) about schools like SAIS and IR/ Policy program in general. It seems everyone is so fixated on business school that anything different is considered inferior anyhow I am a qualified lawyer in India and presently working as an in-house counsel in an energy company. I've also worked in DC (roughly for 6 months) , where I was doing some research/ advocacy work at FCC. I see you have applied to some great schools . All the best and who knows we may end up going to the same place
  8. I know its really pathetic..feels like I am in 10th grade again I have applied in SAIS as well. Just don't like the way how all the results would be out so close to each other. BTW... are you an Indian national or working in India?
  9. Strangely, I was not able to locate any dedicated topic on MSFS 2013 and therefore I have started this post, where we can share any info and more importantly express our anxiety on what lies ahead.
  10. Hi there! I aspire to work in a DC bound think thank/ research institute. Therefore was mainly looking at IR/ MPP courses. But I applied to an MBA program at Kogod, AU (almost on a whim) as it is located in DC and allows you to combine your MBA degree with electives from SIS. I now have a decision to make between SAIS (with no funding) and Kogod (with 50 % tuition funding) . Being an international candidate the extent of financial burden really matters to me. I know it is not a comparison of apples to apples but would really appreciate if someone can address my queries below. 1) Would I be really at a disadvantage if I turn down SAIS for an MBA (with electives in IR) in relation to think tank/policy world? 2) Can MBA encroach into the career path for which IR/MPP is more suitable, just like the way JD has done? Thanks Ansac
  11. As the title suggest, which are some of the good policy schools if you want to specializing in Telecoms and internet policy? I have looked at the website of almost all the top schools but couldn't find any of them offering electives on this policy track? Personal Details: I am a qualified lawyer and working for past 4 years in one of the biggest telecom companies in India , My work involves dealing with regulatory authorities and policy makers in India . My aim (post qualification) would be to work for policy think tanks like Gartner, Yankee, Ovum or somehow directly or indirectly get associated with FCC . Is there a MPP / IR prog which complements this? Thanks in advance!
