  1. These programs allow you to work and pursue MBA at the same time from a top business school. Does anyone have any opinions about these two programs?
  2. How did you get into Duke, but not UVa? I got accepted to UVa, but rejected by Duke. Duke CS is not easy to get into, cuz they have a pretty small department.
  3. Is there any diffference between the MSCS programs offered at NYU GSAS and NYU Poly?
  4. Did anyone receive admission decision from Northwestern's M.S. program yet? It seems like they're taking unusually long time to make the decision on M.S. application this year.
  5. UPenn is a great school.... Don't be greedy. Given your low GPA, you're lucky that Penn wants you. It's very unlikely that with a 3.05 GPA, you can get into a Top 10 schools, unless you have other stellar research experience (which you said that you don't have). You know that the average GPA for the top 5 or 10 schools are around 3.7, right?
  6. Does anyone have any insider information about this program at Duke? They are not ranked very high, but they have a very small acceptance rate (less than 2% is what I heard!). I wonder why it's so hard to get accepted into Computer Science Department at Duke.
  7. I haven't heard from Northwestern either. Duke just sent out their decisions. it took them a while. .
  8. It seems like NYU has MSCS in GSAS and in NYU Poly. Are they different master programs? Do they have different admission standard?
  9. Stanford MSCS is not very research oriented. Just check out Stanford's degree requirement.
  10. Does anyone have any opinion on this MS programin CS from Yale? This does not seem to be a big program at yale, and I couldn't tell if this program is worth going or not. Does the department emphasize a lot on research? It does not seem to admit a lot of students, and it's really not a that highly ranked CS program. I am just wondering what the reputation of this MSCS program is... and how competitive is it to get admitted to this seemingly small program (is it really that hard to get into as the ranking suggests)?
  11. Why does Harvard SEAS admit so few Masters students, but so many PhD students?
  12. not "terribly difficult".... ? meaning that is it still selective? I think MS with thesis is probably less selective than PhD.... otherwise, what's the point of having two application processes for each?
  13. Does anyone have any opinion on this non-thesis MCS program from a highly ranked CS department at UIUC? This is of course designed for working professional without emphasis on original thesis. I am just wondering what the reputation of this MCS program is... and how competitive is it to get admitted to this non-thesis program (is it really that hard to get into as the ranking suggests)?
  14. A&M for sure. USC = safety school.
