  1. This is really useful information. Thanks!
  2. I had a similar grouping of grades - it was to my advantage though, it boosted my sgpa by 0.03. It must have been an unpleasant surprise, that's almost an entire gpa point! I hope so, I've been very alarmed by one posting in the gradcafe results page where someone got waitlisted with a 3.85 at UWO!
  3. If you do a results search, you'll see that someone was waitlisted at western in 2011 with a 3.85. On the CASLPA website there are university surveys. The last one entered (in 2010) shows that UWO had 300 applicants and admits around 30-40 students. Seems like it's one of the most competitive to get into, but anyone who is applying to UWO is likely also applying to UofT and definitely can't attend both!
  4. Thanks ajv! My subGPA should be 3.8, so it's good to hear that 3.8 was enough during a tough year! I only know one other person who has gotten in/applied to SLP (last year) - she got into McGill, UWO and Toronto and had a CGPA of 3.86 with a Science background. From what I remember, she had 1.5 years of SLP specific volunteering. I'm not too sure about her applications otherwise. It would be nice if Canadians actually posted their stats in the results search in gradcafe. Yeesh.
  5. I'm also applying to UofA, UT, UWO and McGill. My first choice is UofA. I'm taking pre-req classes at ConU in Montreal right now - I've got a cGPA of 3.5 and after this semester my subGPA should be 3.8. I spent a year volunteering with both seniors and kids with language difficulties. I did the GRE(for UofA) and scored 325. Does anyone know if this makes me competitive for UofA? Their website says 3.5 is adequate, but I've read on premed101 that they have high OOP cutoffs for their other Rehabilitation Science programs, and are GPA focused - with the low spot to applicant ratio it would be great if anyone had any ideas on what kind of stats you need to get into these schools!
  6. Congrats to those of you with acceptances! Could you post your stats please? It would be helpful for those of us applying next year!
