  2. Hey ya'll, just wondering if any of you are applying to either schools. and... well... why are there 2 schools at Penn for social policy? any thoughts? thanks and good luck! DWD
  3. @fuzzylogician its an doc/pdf upload version. so i caaan write a whole book (will most likely not do so) or just two lines.... I wrote 3-5 sentences for each part (yes, i took breaks in both education and work, sadly!) sounds enough, eh? @jellybean24 I agree with fuzzylogician's input. but then again, this might be an opportunity to jazz up some critical work you've accomplished that a compact resume just doesnt do justice to
  4. fist, a response, second, another question on that topic 1) i dont quite understand. the application is asking you to free write about your work experience? as in, job by job? Or is this a chance to tie up your professional experience in a nice bowtied story on why you're the bomb-diggity for this school? 2) on that very topic-- I was asked to explain any professional or educational gaps. How in-depth do you think they want it? Just 2 sentences ok? like: it was a mutual termination and afterwards i did xyz until job abc started....? thanks! dwd
  5. Hi All, So im required to submit a course list of relavent classes (they explicitly ask for math, econ and politics courses and the application is for Woodrow Wilson MPA Public Policy) I was a history and sociology major... and took 1 math: precalc..... 2 econs: macro and micro and zero politics courses do you think i can 'stretch' some of my sociology classes into the math zone? namely social statistics (which was a stat course!!) and sociological research methods (data collection, analysis and preparing for thesis paper) help!!! thx DWD
  6. @jellybean24 thanks! I did end up goign with the volunteer-- I hope im not sorry for it. I just cant find any way to capture how much heart and work went into my nonprofit startup, esp since i started it myself and that was my first time ever in the nonprofit field. but still got my professor and academic advisor in too! thanks!
  7. Good luck! I was a Fulbright Fellow ETA Taiwan in 2009-2010 CHANGED MY LIFE! feel free to pm me
  8. Hi, to expand on this question-- I started a nonprofit and I asked one of the volunteers I recruited to write me a LoR. Is that normal? Would you have other recommendations for me? I am technically 'the boss' so I dont really have anyone in a supervising role to write it for me. Ideas? Thanks DWD
