  1. competely off topic (I apologize) but this thread title was cut off on the front page to say "How do you get over bad tea" and I came in wanting to know more!

    In my case, I experiment on different teaching styles for every class and see where they respond best. If I have a bad teaching day now, I'll try a different approach the next time.

  2. In my experience, if your end goal is a PhD then why not apply directly for one after your undergrad? I think it's all a matter of luck and timing. Last year I applied to 3 MS programs with 0 acceptances. This year I applied to 4 PhD programs and got 3 acceptances. The only thing that changed in that 1 year is an additional year of teaching experience.

  3. I accepted an offer exactly one month ago and the admissions officer told me he/she will get back to me in a week or so. I haven't heard from him/her ever since. What do I do now? I'm kind of freaking out because I don't know what to do next. I've talked to a few grad students about housing but I feel like nothing is really final until I get the I-20 form (I'm international, btw).
