Many people have already heard back from UIUC this year. Should have applied to UIUC .
Me too. Had I known that decisions would be early, I could've applied there. sigh. Oh well.

What I did was (though it is a little time consuming) I grouped the questions into broad topics such as education, science, art, government, politics, etc. and brainstormed some ideas. It also helped that I read some sample essays to have some ideas on what to write.
Now take this with a grain of salt since I didn't really score high on the AW part. I think my argument essay pulled up my total score.

Received a thick mail from Syracuse today. My heart was throbbing very fast but I was confused because I did not apply there. When I opened it, it was a Department brochure and an introduction letter. Then I remembered that I submitted to them some pre-application details online. (sigh)
I thought that was unnecessary. They could've just e-mailed me. Oh well, back to waiting...

The 1995 subject test is also available online aside from the 2000 and 2006 test. I posted the link here:
I tried all the review books. REA was too outdated, with very, very easy questions. The Princeton review book sample test is quite similar to the GRE sample tests.

Good for you both! I had notifications from academia.edu in October/November when I started e-mailing POIs.
-
^ I tried this and they did not believe me, LOL. I think the on-line recommendation system shows the deadline.

I was on the same boat with you guys. I sent the scores to the universities twice. But I had no problem with it since they were for free. Had they told us earlier, I could've sent the first score reports (General test only) to those not requiring the subject test.

No. It's not like it would change anything. Besides, I think it would make me cringe just reading that letter and I've had enough of that when I wrote my SOP. LOL.

I'm now glued to my computer to check my e-mails. I have little heart attacks whenever there's a new message, but then when I realize it's not grad school related I get back to obsessing again. Not good, I know.
-
once I've submitted my SOP, I never looked back. It's not like I can do anything to change the typos.

Avoid stressing yourself out and just apply next year. Some schools have a strict rule when it comes to deadlines and you don't want to waste the 50-100$ app. fee and all your efforts in an application that can be possibly rejected because it is incomplete.
-
I am going to accept the possibility that I won't hear anything this week. I might as well enjoy this week instead of obsessively refreshing the e-mail and results page (btw, congrats on the USC Chem admit, unknown person! )

I know University of Florida Chemistry has a rolling admissions seeing as their deadline is not until January 1.
Which other schools has one? (please include the department name)

After I got my first app in, it was like I was addicted and I just wanted to turn them all in as fast as possible! Hopefully that won't come back to bite me in the ass...
This is EXACTLY what I did.

Just wondering what do you people do to keep yourself preoccupied? How do you keep yourself from being obsessed in waiting for the decision e-mail? The wait is killing me. I have nothing to do in the Christmas break so I imagine myself being in the computer all-day pressing the refresh button.
I can't believe I have to wait until the end of January for the results (according to last year's results page).

You guys are looking math experts .So i think i am right place .So please solve this question :-
Mary's secret garden contains clones of Homer Simpson and WALL-E. A WALL-E close has 4 legs. Meanwhile, Homer Simpson clones are human and therefore have 2 legs each. A Homer Simpson clone always has 5 donuts, while a WALL-E clone has 2. In Mary's secret garden, there are 184 donuts and 128 legs. How many WALL-E clones are there?
I don't even understand this. Can someone please explain the
answer?
Please solve this 7th Grade Math problem
LOL, neither do we.

I'm glad the LOR stress is over. However, one of my schools (JHU) either lost my IELTS score report or they threw it out. I'm resending it again through fedex, and I hope it will reach there within this week. Ugh. It's like I'm bleeding out money for all these apps.
-
my undergraduate thesis is 18,500 words. LOL.
-
I'm still waiting for the responses of the other schools I've applied to though. If I'm accepted at my top choice (Chicago), I'll probably go there.
-
Is it the amount of stipend? school ranking? the city? research fit?
You see, I was accepted in a US School for PhD Chem and in a school in Paris for MS Chem. How do I choose? I'm torn between the two because one is in Paris! (who doesn't like to go to Paris?) while the other is a relatively more prestigious school.
I just don't want to regret my decision later. Any thoughts?
New GRE Test Scores are up.
