  1. Congrats! Now I'm checking my spam folder regularly too...
  2. anyone else feeling left out? I've gotten no decisions yet, which I guess is a good thing for UCSD, but a bad thing for UCLA, Chicago, Duke and NYU!
  3. Oh no, UW bloodbath today!
  4. Do you think they know gradcafe exists?
  5. I applied to Chicago. It looks like most of their admits from last year came on Feb 7th, though the cruelly didn't reject people until Feb 29 - March 1.
  6. Congrats to WUSTL! Michigan would be nice, but now I've got UCSD, UCLA, Duke and NYU on the brain....maybe one of them could hurry it up?
  7. Congrats! Also, to clangeroo above, I've been thinking about the same thing. In the end, I find that I'm more neurotic with the interwebs (refresh refresh), but it's less anxiety than waiting for an envelope to come to your parent's house, like back in the day
  8. Yes, it's only 4pm in Cali
  9. Yes, congrats and thanks for letting us know!
  10. Also, so no one has claimed UCLA so far?
  11. Terrifying! Though drinking will probably help...
  12. Dear everyone: Please. Stop. Sending. Me. Emails.
  13. Congrats on UCLA! Did you just get that email?...
  14. By bad, I guess we've seen 4?
  15. Who knows! (Unless someone has talked to the department...?). By my count, people reported 10 acceptances for 2012 (most accepted on 10 Feb; rejections were sent on March 1-2). We've seen only 2 accepts so far, right? So, there are probably more to come unless people just aren't posting their NYU decisions this year. The department says that they usually admit around 35 students.
  16. True indeed, but maybe they'll keep their tight timeline? Probably just wishful thinking...
  17. Me too. Because I have lots of things nothing better to do and am feeling super neurotic industrious, I was looking at past years of UCSD decisions. In 2012, nearly all of their admits were sent on Feb 9-10, and nearly all rejects on Feb 10. If their timing is the same this year (in terms of sending all decisions in a few days), perhaps we'll hear something today?
  18. No doubt, that's fantastic! I'm hoping to hear back from anyone soon. (Maybe UCSD, Duke and NYU will send out more decisions today?)
  19. It's the Foreign Languages and Area Studies fellowship, with a separate application: http://gsas.columbia.edu/content/flas-fellowship-academic-year
  20. Yes! It made my heart skip also I got both the official notice and one from the administrator (because I had enquirer about it before).
