Any word on San Diego?
-
good to know!
-
Thanks for this! I'm comparative so that makes me feel a little better...
-
I second this question!
-
Yes, congrats to Rochester and UMass people!
-
Yes, agreed re: trolls (or they are from POIs?). Thanks for clarifying, this helps!
-
Thanks for taking one for the team So when you called UCLA, did they say your decision hadn't yet been made, or the decisions hadn't yet been made? If they said the latter, then it would seem odd that they have already notified some acceptances?
-
yeah, that's what I thought (and didn't want to bother). I'll probably keep updating this as results come in, so people can send me changes or add and upload them themselves.
-
Thanks setgree. Is there a way to post a google doc anonymously? If so I'm happy to do it (we all seem to be maintaining some level of anonymity here, so going public would seem weird). Thanks for the Chicago stats, I'll update. Is that from the 2012 letter or this years'?
-
For serious. I'm just trying to keep reminding myself that it's still early morning in California (it's crazy that the two UCLA phone call admits earlier were before 9am pacific time!).
-
This is very true. Congrats to UCLA people...this is freaking me out though!
-
LOL, thanks! If any adcom people are following...message me for my real name
-
Yes, my guess is this is why. The Harvard data is also shaky, I only know that last year's GC reported a rejection letter that said 500 applicants for 27 "spots", which I assumed to be enrolled but could have been accepted.
-
p.s., this obviously has the huge caveat that it's all my imperfect manual counts and estimates, yadayadayada.
-
Hello fellow nerds. Because I kept neurotically going back and checking last year's results pages etc., I decided to make a spreadsheet of this info. I then went overboard (needed a distraction?) and also added schools' reported admissions statistics, and then went a step further into crazytown and imputed some of the missing stats based on GC-reported results. I've uploaded the file, which you can download here: http://wikisend.com/download/570440/Polisci%20PhD%20admit%20data.xlsx For now it only has the schools I'm looking at, but if anyone wants to add others (or has real cohort stats from schools) feel free to add! Rows in green are schools that have already started appearing on GC, blue may be coming this week. Enjoy!

Thanks for Duke info! Odd that the Graduate School doesn't just automatically approve all recommendations? (Or maybe they're waiting on GREs and the like?)
-
From those we've already seen some movement from (of the ones that I applied to an am tracking ): Admits: Likely more from UCLA and hopefully UCSD in the next few days, and it's possible that we could see a few more admits for Chicago, Duke and NYU. Rejections: Duke and UCLA also sent out rejections in early Feb last year, so that could come too; less likely from Chicago and NYU, both waited until end of Feb-March to send theirs. Possible new ones: Michigan sent both admits and rejects last year in the first week of Feb, so that seems likely. Stanford and Berkeley trickled out their admits over a few weeks, but also started the first week of Feb, so perhaps we'll see a few of those soon.

sorry to make you worry! im from the midwest, so uw is always wisconsin
-
This. Also, can people refrain from posting rejections that are assumed, rather than confirmed?
-
i have angry-unsubscribed from so many email lists today
-
In the past Chicago sent out rejects many weeks later than accepts. By my count (yes, I'm crazy), last year 9 admits were posted, so far this year we're up to 6 :/
-
Thanks! Also @mackinCheese, thanks for the heads up on UCSD.
-
It may not be the same, but the email Chicago used when sending application confirmations (i.e., telling us our application was complete) was: admissions@ssd.uchicago.edu, but emails were sent via technolutions.net
-
yes, doubtful
-
LOL, just got really excited about a new email in spam folder...but I'm guessing U Chicago isn't trying to sell me "two smoking hot chicks in the pool".
