No idea but it gave me a mini heart attack and induced a fit of email checking last night. This is one of the few left that I have hope for...any info from the department on their timeline for making these final decisions would be appreciated!

Out at Notre Dame...not a huge surprise (but these still never feel good!). Fit wasn't great but it was my supervisor's alma mater and he suggested I apply.

I've been using the gradstatus site. Just checked applyyourself and there's nothing there either.

Has anyone here posted one of the recent Northwestern rejections? Did you get an email or did you just randomly check the website? Mine still says 'an admissions decision not yet been rendered' (they really went full academic with their choice of words there!).

Yeah, that's what I was hoping too, but a friend talked to the department and they implied that no news is probably not good news at this point. Still hope (but small).

That makes sense, although from an outside perspective it seems like they could also just add more people to the waitlist in these cases? E.g., Duke, Notre Dame and others have already notified their accepts and waitlists..if they are still figuring out how many they can fund, wouldn't this relate more to the waitlist than those who haven't yet been notified of anything (and are presumably rejected)? Ahh the mysteries of administrative processes...

So, can someone currently enrolled in a program comment on why schools that have already made all their decisions hold back on sending rejections for a few weeks? Are some taking another look? Are others just preoccupied with dealing with new admits? Curious!

Sorry to the Duke person! I'm expecting this soon enough. Did they say all acceptances have been sent?

Not that have been posted here, but they have already sent out a lot of acceptances (12 on GC, by my count), so it's likely they're done.
