^Thanks Adelaide9216! Someone just told me that they have all A+'s and that sent me down the worry hole. But I cannot imagine anyone getting all A+'s in grad school!

I am not applying just yet, but plan on doing that in a few years. Any idea what their GPA cutoffs look like?

Hey Everyone, I have just finished my MSW and would like to return for a PhD down the road. But I have not been able to find any information on the GPA requirements for PhD programs, especially in Canada. All programs keep saying that it depends on the entirety of the application, but there has to be something that is preferred, and something that is considered a cutoff. Any ideas?

What are the minimum GPA that these PhD programs are looking for?

It appears there are some programs that offer post-MSW fellowships in the US. In anyone here doing one? I have no idea how those benefit ones career. Is there a benefit to doing those fellowships?

Hey everyone. Those of you who are applying to be able to practice as therapists after the degree, are you at all concerned that Social Workers are not allowed to use the "psychotherapist" title as of Apr 1st of this year in Ontario? I know right now insurance companies cover MSWs and Psychologists for counselling. CRPOs are not covered. OCSWSSW mentioned that they are trying to have that regulation allow social workers to be able to use the title. Given that we are all only just starting, we have time to decide what we want to do. If they are requested prior to december 1st, they should accept it. Most schools dont penalize you for mailing time. Call them and ask. UofCalgary has not received mine. I am worrying about that.

How is it coming along for you? I have written parts of it over and over again and I can't decide on how to organize it... Sigh. Why don't they have questions like all other schools!

Is anyone applying to University of Calgary? I have been admitted to Laurier's part time MSW program. However, I may need to move to Calgary, so I am applying to their program as well. Their statement of intent is very confusing!
