  1. Yeah, I totally agree with what you've said, but I've just decided to take it off my list for the reason that it's been one of the only schools I've been iffy about. I really like Hanneline Rogeberg, but not enough to spend two years somewhere I'm not excited by just for her. Here's a link to a really good lecture she did at BU for those interested in her work: http://www.bu.edu/buniverse/view/?v=BlR9n56
  2. So I'm finishing everything with my application to Rutgers today, and I learned that after the school application (separate from Slideroom) you are sent a RUID through e-mail 1 to 3 days later so you are able to RE-UPLOAD everything you already have in Slideroom...including having your recommenders uploading another letter. Is it just me or does this seem completely backwards? I talked to admissions over the phone, and they confirmed this stupidity. I realize that they need this information for different areas, but seriously don't get a fucking Slideroom for your school if you don't really use it. I won't be bothering my recommenders again with this one...
  3. Hey Curious12345, I actually researched and applied to the UCSB program in painting this year because of a post you made last March 2011. Maybe you should be their official recruiter?
  4. Did you ever figure anything out, Starling? Have you looked into your schools' application fee waivers?
  5. Your font kind of makes it look like your name is Harley.
  6. Starling - I know they e-mailed you but have you tried contacting the graduate school to see if they just haven't been added to your file yet? There could be some wiggle room especially if the transcripts are sent to a different graduate admissions area than the rest of your materials. There's still hope, shake some of these people down for information over the phone as soon as they're open.
  7. Most, if not all of the artist talks I've been to, the artist at one point or another complains about the quality of the photos as they are projected. It's just one of those things.
  8. Really interesting imagery, likeafire. A lot of it feels strong. What are the dimensions of these?

    HELP

You mean "assurance" and "toll"? It's never a bad idea to get a proof read from someone before you finalize. Best of luck.
  10. I assumed it was a given to waive your rights on the recommendation letters, like the difference between official transcripts and unofficial transcripts. More so for the confidentiality between the letter writer and person receiving it. I wouldn't sweat it though, I'm sure it's near the bottom of the list of things they give a shit about.
  11. So you want HALF of your portfolio to consist of detail shots? No matter how interesting your work is, it'll get too repetitive. I agree with TheStranger, 2 at most.
