No, I don't have military experience but I did do ROTC (or Corps of Cadets) at Texas A&M. I was thinking about joining back in the days but I wanted to serve my country in other ways either through working for the government or doing public policy.
I am very interested in the national security track as well but with a more of a concentration of food security down the road with my career. I applied for a couple MPA programs. I majored in agricultural development and I worked for the US Dept. of Agricultural the last 4 years.
Anyways...I got into the Syracuse MPA program and I like it since it is a one-year program. I did apply to TX A&M, University of Texas, Harvard, and Gtown as well.
So what did they do? Did they call you or email you about switching from the MPP to the MPA??? Sorry but I am just curious...I applied to the MPP though since I did not have the certain graduate classes for the MPA requirement even though I have 18 hours of graduate work in a Graduate Certifiate in Homeland Security. But I do have 5+ years of work experience. I guess I should have asked them ahead of time or before I applied? Oh well...I will just wait and see what happens.
