  1. i'm not 100% decided but something along the lines of organic/biorganic
  2. i am curious about this too....1 person on the results page said pchem
  3. I think that applications are reviewed in the order that they are complete/received. I don't think that there's anything you should be doing as far as emailing people...you might be able to call some grad offices and ask them if the admissions committees are still deciding. hope you get good news soon!
  4. i think the interview was for harvard's chemical biology program, which is different than their chemistry and chemical biology program (that doesn't do interviews as far as I know of)
  5. Looks like someone got into harvard....!
  6. no and no for me, but if you look here http://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=caltech+chemistry it looks like 2 international students have been admitted this cycle.
  7. I got a call from caltech today too!!!
  8. i got two emails from them, both after i'd been called. the first one said that my application has been made available to review and the second said that i could log in to check my application status. The emails arrived within a day of one another.... congratz JonotanVII! are you looking to do synthesis in grad school?
  9. do the people who heard back from MIT today mind sharing their information?
  10. it's been slower this week for chemistry ppl than I would have thought...
  11. So the biology people have a running list of when the visiting days are for different programs....I though maybe we could start one here. The way they do there's is that the next person to add schools to the list copies the previous post, unbolds the currently bolded programs, adds his or hers in alphabetical order, and then bolds his or her new additions. So i'll start: Yale (General Chemistry): March 22nd-24th
  12. who heard from princeton today? also about the international debate, there are some schools (such as the one that I'm currently attending) that aren't ranked as highly for chemistry but that can take alot more international students because they have different funding sources. In my lab 1/2 the grad students are international.
  13. I believe that MIT can only take a few internationals every year (someone I worked with at my lab who applied there said like 2-3) due to funding restrictions
  14. how about MIT biological chemistry?
  15. i got into Yale today!! I received a phone call from a professor that I mentioned in my personal statement. First acceptance - yay! He said I'd get a more formal acceptance within a month and the visiting weekend is march 22nd-24th. GalliumSpoon, I was feeling exactly how you were this morning so all I can say is that a lot can change in a day. If you don't hear anything by the end of February, then I personally would be worried, but for now I see no reason to worry since it is still early.
  16. Congratulations to Nitroglycerin - that's awesome that you got into MIT! Are you interested in inorganic/bioinorganic? Also Pnictides is the person that you kinow interested in inorganic/bioinorganic? It seemed like the other people here who were accepted to MIT were in that area, so I'm wondering if those people are the only ones who are hearing back.
  17. Congrats!!! do you mind sharing your information and who called you? I applied there too, for a similar area and am anxiously waiting
  18. Veele, they gave his/her stats and said that they were accepted via phone call on the results page if that interests you.
  19. on the results page someone got into MIT today!
  20. Congratz to all the UIUC people and to JLK!! Jlk how did you hear? And when are the interviews?
  21. Congratulations! Out of curiosity what are you stats/ research experience etc?
  22. Here's to hoping that more people hear back this coming week!
  23. My percentile for the score that i got from the october test was different than the percentile for that particular score on past tests, so i'm quessing the percentiles change each time....not sure how you would be able to get your percentile until u get your score report or it appears online sorry
  24. Your stats and research experience are really impressive! Also I'm glad to find someone else who isn't applying to any safeties :0 In other news, it seems like so many bio people are hearing (http://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php) - not fair!
  25. Awww is it you top choice? I'm trying really hard to stay neutral between all of my schools so I won't feel as bummed by ones that I am rejected to =)
