  1. Scripps-La Jolla $29000 (including health care) Yale: I think around $30500 Berkeley: $28500 Caltech: $28500 Stanford: don't know for sure but last year's was $32500 I think.
  2. Accepted to Scripps after interviewing there last weekend!
  3. I was asking tomyum where he/she goes to school, not Eigen.
  4. May I ask what school you are at?
  5. nope - no idea what's going on. if you search the results page, the last few things from MIT were rejections.
  6. Still havent heard from MIT! Did the email direct you to check your application or did it just say rejected?
  7. I know that one of their visiting weekends is in 2 weeks, so that doesn't give people very much time, but they have a later visiting weekend also so maybe people could still be accepted. You could try calling the graduate office. I'm in the same boat with MIT and it's frustrating!!!
  8. thanks for letting me know. this is frustrating but i guess better than just being rejected. I wonder why they are taking longer than other peer institutions.
  9. hmmm this seems strange because when I was offered an interview they said that the only dates that they are doing interviews in La Jolla are 2/24 and 3/2, and they wouldn't let me go a different weekend. So if they don't tell you until the end of Feb., then that gives you like no notice to go to one of the scheduled interviews. Maybe it's different for the florida campus? Anyone know what percentage of the people that they interview are accepted? Also, if anyone hears anything from MIT please provide an update!
  10. Thanks - Lynn says "The admissions process is still ongoing. It may be another few weeks before all of the decisions are finalized." So i guess there's still hope for us...! haha i'm not sure that i'm going to all of them but maybe
  11. I emailed Susan Brighton recently but she hasn't emailed me back.
  12. Hey guys - i saw on the results forum that someone got into MIT today. can that person please tell me what type of chemistry they applied for?
  13. yes, that's the only weekend, but the professor who called me made it sound like they are flexible and will help find you another date if you can't make that one (unlike some other schools....)
  14. I would recommend emailing or calling the departments. Someone on this forum said that Harvard has already notified all of their accepted applicants, so that might be a rejection, but I don't know about the others. It seems that not that many people on this forum have heard back from Stanford so maybe they are still reading through applications.
  15. maybe it is mostly just the international people that they notify by email??
  16. this is surprising to me given that it seems not that many people from this forum got in there, whereas a ton got into MIT, Berkeley, etc. Also i thought people heard back via postal mail but maybe they changed that this year. Anyone know what percentage of scripps people who get an interview are eventually accepted?

  18. Okay I feel really silly for my previous comment now because I heard from Scripps (and Princeton) today! Hope you guys get good news soon too. (and gringard it was because they hadn't responded)
  19. If you look in the results forum alot of people have heard back from Scripps already (well alot given the size of the program), so I winder if they've sent out all or nearly all their invitations to interviews.
  20. yeah i don't have much hope anymore for getting in to scripps:( oh well.
  21. I've heard that they look at applications in the order that they get them and it's good to get them in as early as possible...not that you won't get in if you apply the day before the deadline, just that you might have a better chance if your application is read earlier.
  22. Thank you! I don't know if they are sending out all acceptances at once or in waves but it sounds like more people will start hearing next week...
  23. phone call, but they said they'd be mailing acceptances out soon. good luck! Anyone have any idea when we'll hear from Princeton or Harvard?
