  1. on the results page someone in bio heard back from Scripps today....I hope chem people start hearing soon too.
  2. Congrats!! It looks like on the results page there's another person who hear from UC-Irvine too, the same way that you did...
  3. Looking at the results page, someone got into UC-Irvine today for chemistry! No stats though or information about when they applied. If it was someone who reads this thread, please fill us in!
  4. I'd say for Scripps, UMich and UWisconsin your GRE scores are going to be on the low end, but can be countered by good letters of recommendation and personal statements. I don't know anything about the other schools but I don't think they aren't as competitive. Another thing to consider is your undergrad school's reputation, as well as if your letter writers are known by the people reading your applications. And i'm applying to Scripps and haven't heard anything yet (or heard anything from anywhere) so I wouldn't worry about not hearing back yet!
  5. Congratulations that's awesome! mcstev13 do you mind posting your stats?
  6. Obviously I'm no expert and I haven't been through the grad admissions process before, but I've heard it is harder for international students to get it in general than domestic students. Scripps, MIT, Princeton and UI in particular are considered to be very good programs, and therefore are hard to get into. For example, on Princeton's website they say most people that they admit have GPAs >3.5, a math score>700, verbal>600 and writing 4.5 or greater. I know that some of the other top programs (harvard, stanford, berkeley) have averages of about 780 (~88%) for math, 640 (~90%) for verbal, greater than 4.5 for writing and average GPAs of 3.75 or greater for accepted students, so if Scripps, MIT and Princeton are similar to these then your stats might hurt you a bit but they're not too far off. However, the good news is that I've also heard that your letters and you personal statement are the most important factors, so it's hard to say what your chances are without knowing how your letters or personal statement will be perceived. Hope that helps!
  7. I took the October test. My score came out online exactly when they said it would, 6 weeks after I took the test. However, score reports were mailed a week before that, so some people got theirs in the mail before they came up online. Otherwise, yes you can call to get it something like 2 weeks early, but I personally didn't feel like giving ETS any more money!
  8. Hello, I am applying to Scripps, Caltech, Stanford, UC-Berkeley, Yale, Princeton, Harvard and MIT. I submitted all of my applications by mid-November but had to wait until last week to send GRE scores. Stats: 3.93 GPA (at a top 15 private university), 800/590/5.0 GRE, have been doing research since end of sophomore year but have no publications Good luck to everyone and based on past threads it seems like most people start hearing back in January...seems so soon!
