  1. Kevin already made the group! SIPA Admitted students 2012!
  2. haha thanks but also like you and the others! I think we'll be a nice class. This forum has been so helpful!
  3. I have already sent the message to this guy so hopefully we can do the group today and post the link on the SIPA message board.
  4. Ok hahaha. I'll do it but I'm going to send first a message to the guy who created the SIPA page, so he can know it as it was his idea. I think a group is better because it's more private and we can know who are the members. I have seen that the class of 2011 and 2012 have also fb groups
  5. But it's not actually a group, it's just a type of Like/Fan page I think...so we can't really don't know who is a member! hahaha I have just seen your post, Erry!
  6. Yes, you're right there is one already for class of 2014! Thanks Oseirus!
  7. Do you guys mean a facebook group or something like that?
  8. Well done guys!! I'm so happy for you! Will you be attending SIPA? We waited for so long but we made it!
  9. YESS, you chose SIPA, Erry! We'll be classmates! Now, we are waiting for you, Fleetly!
  10. Yeah Toni, you have SAIS, which is as great as SIPA. Good luck!
  11. As far as I know from former Fulbright grantees, Korbel is one of the best schools for Human Rights studies...Honestly. If this is your area of interest, then you did the right thing. It's not all about the name. I didn't apply to SAIS, Princeton or Georgetown because although they are quite good, my focus is more on media development and these schools are not in line with my background and career goals. Good luck, Raayah!
  12. And I agree with Rose1, whatever you choose (SAIS or SIPA), do it and never look back. You have a great scholarship and have been admitted to the best IR schools. You'll be great and will have an amazing experience. That's for sure.
  13. But Erry, what is your dream school? All of them have advantages and disadvantages but undoubtedly both SIPA and SAIS are great. However, you should have a feeling, just follow it! This might sound kinda corny (well, actually it's...lol) but listen to your heart. Graduate school is not only to grow academically or professionally, but also personally. You are going to spend at least two years of your life there...So the city is also important. I don't know, just follow your intuition and you'll be fine. Good luck! Btw, I would like to see you at SIPA!
  14. Thank you SO much guys for your kind words! I'm super happy right now. Still can't believe it. This is a dream. I hope I can meet all of you at SIPA. Fleetly, now I'm with you! I really hope you can get in as well. Alainray, we'll be partners, that's great!! Erry, you SHOULD go to SIPA! Seriously, we wanna see you there! ;-) Please, let us know what you decide. Good luck to those who are still waiting! You really deserve to get in!
  15. GOT IN!!! I just can’t believe it! VIVAAAAAA!! After waiting for so long, I thought I would be rejected. OVER THE MOON RIGHT NOW! Good luck to those who are still waiting! And congrats, Cossack!!
  16. haha this video about SIPA is so funny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJiOcA8NSXA This is for you guys, for being so nice and helpful!
  17. I would go if I were admitted lol. But..I'm still waiting and waiting. I think you did the right thing by contacting the Admissions Departament to learn more about the program and get in touch with a current student. I'm sure he/she will give you real feedback. And this is for you, Erry (well, for everyone!): http://blogs.cuit.co...happen-at-sipa/ http://blogs.cuit.co...pro-con-list-2/ http://sipalife.blog...ooglegroup.html http://michellechahi...sipa-round-two/ I especially like the last one!
  18. What about you, Erry? Have you already made up your mind? ;-) Are you more close to SIPA or SAIS right now?
  19. So fleetly, you haven't heard back either...I guess that this week we'll know something...That's what they said in the blog... "end of next week"..... I agree with you that this thread has such a positive aura... For me, it has also been very helpful. I hope we can all meet at SIPA!
  20. @kellyclarksonfanlol and IRToni, I'm also waiting.. I applied to the MIA program. After seeing the survey results, I'm afraid that most of fellowship decisions have already been released... I have a negative feeling regarding my application BUT I hope you can get in guys. Just have faith and don't give up until they post your decision! Good luck!
  21. I think you are totally right. The level of the people in this forum is so high. Good luck to you as well, beekline!
  22. I guess it depends on the person. I know several people who attended SIPA and according to them, the program (MIA) is great and all of them are working. In the last few months, I have exchanged emails and talked by phone with 9 more people from the US, Chile, Spain and Canada that went to SIPA and I hadn’t heard anything negative about it until I discovered this forum and again, I also have first-hand information. I guess every program has its advantages and disadvantages though. I’m just talking about the MIA program. But (and I'm not talking about you, beekline, as I really appreciate your opinion and info) I'm surprised that there are so many people here disliking SIPA that much… I do agree, however, that Columbia is very expensive…Extremely expensive I would say… And regarding job prospects, I strongly agree with something I read in another thread in this forum (I think the SAIS one): "Success after grad school is more dependent on the individual rather than the school/program". Again, this is just my personal experience and point of view
  23. Guys, you are so nice. Hope I can get in and meet you all there :-) Erry, it seems to me that many people here are not going to SIPA due to the high costs of the program but...you have a scholarship, don't you? SAIS is also a very good school but I do agree that SIPA has a more international focus. As you said, you can take courses at other schools and Columbia's Law, Business or Journalism schools are also among the best worldwide.....
