  1. erry3779, just 80%? Come on...99%! lol....That's what SIPA told me yesterday: "Decisions began being announced on Wednesday, March 14th, but are nowhere near completed" and again "thanks for your patience". I guess I will hear next Friday at 6pm or something like that haha. Imagine if it's a rejection after waiting for so long...lol So....who is going to go to SIPA for sure?
  2. Haha hope you can get in, fleetly. Good luck!
  3. Congrats! Enjoy your weekend
  4. So... I am going to be the last one hearing back from them... Super great! What time did you hear from them, wantgrad? Thanks for your words, dcenergygirl. I don't think I am being considered for funding because my stats are not that brilliant...Anyway, I just want to know my decision!
  5. Thanks for the info, beekline
  6. For those who have already heard back from SIPA, may I ask you when your letter was dated? Someone said that he/she received the decision yesterday but the letter was dated on March 20. That would mean that decisions have already been made and they are just updating the system. Don't know what to think at this point. I'm just tired. Another weekend waiting....
  7. @wantgrad, I'm waiting as well...What concentration did you apply to? I applied to EPD. Can't understand why it's taking so long. And they wanted to start releasing decision in early March... Unbelievable!
  8. Thanks for your words, erry! It helps to relax…. :-) I feel the same, there are very interesting people here! I have found this forum very helpful!
  9. Hahaha just go to SIPA. I have heard amazing things about Columbia. Also about SAIS, but I just prefer SIPA (that’s my personal opinion though). Well, I haven’t heard from them yet but I feel I will be rejected because: my quant background is not very strong and my GRE scores are totally average. I applied to the Economic and Political Development concentration and IMAC specialization. That’s what I like about Columbia, that the program is very attractive for people with a media background but interested in IR. I’m interested in media development and SIPA is really good at this. But if I were admitted, I would definitely go. And actually I’m from Madrid but I love Barcelona as well ;-) What about you? Where in Indonesia? Why don’t you contact students at the IFEP track to learn more about the program? You can also check this: http://sipa.columbia.edu/resources_services/admissions/interviews.html
  10. Srunner, I am also a Fulbrighter and still waiting for BU-IR program. I even don't know if I am in. When did you hear from them?
  11. lol... Maybe you don't have to take the course, just ask them! So erry, you are leaning toward SIPA?
  12. Yeah, maybe you should ask...But it's strange because you got 23 in the speaking part but your letter doesn't mention anything about the course... Who knows, just ask them and let us know what they say. Btw, last year a friend of mine took the course and he said it was really good, very interesting but also expensive...You have a scholarship, do they pay you the pre academic courses?
  13. Hey erry, I was told that the course is just for those who scored below 109 (now I have doubts) but it always appears in your acceptance letter. Anyway, I assume that if your letter doesn't mention the course, you are exempt for sure. If you were required, it would mention it. Just ask the admissions office. Did you score over 25 in all the sections? Maybe that's the reason.... I scored 106 so if I were admitted, I would have to take the course or repeat the TOEFL.
  14. @msal, what concentration did you apply to?
  15. Congrats, msal! May I ask you what time did you hear from them? As far as I know from foreign students that attended SIPA, the pre-term English course is this http://ce.columbia.edu/American-Language-Program/English-Professional-Purposes-International-and-Public-Affairs. It is required for those with a TOEFL score below 109. You can get rid of this requirement if you repeat the exam and pass this mark. Also, I have been told that if you prove that you are not able to attend, i.e work reasons, you can be exempt as well. Good luck and let us know if you accept the offer!!
  16. Economic and political development....
  17. Syk I have the same doubt. Someone said a few days ago that when he/she called SIPA, they said all decisions had already been made but then I saw that post in the blog...and it just didn't make sense I feel a rejection is coming for me....
  18. Woww laj168, congrats on your acceptance to SIPA!!! You should be on cloud nine...I think your stats are impressive and your profile quite interesting. I can see why you have been awarded a scholarship and admitted into IFP. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience with us!
  19. Yeah we are definitely in the same boat! I also applied to BU and GWU. I'm still waiting for BU but got into GWU! Good luck to you as well!
  20. Go to SIPA, erry3779! I know several people who went to SIPA and they absolutely loved it. They made great connections and they all have very good jobs! "Going to SIPA changes your life", that's what they said... Good luck and congrats on your acceptance!
  21. Same here...nothing yet. This is so annoying ¬¬
  22. Congrats! That's great...Enjoy it!
  23. well, one more week according to the blog...that's too much
  24. I'm waiting as well... :-(
  25. Congrats dcenergygirl! What time did you see your decision?
