  1. 4.5 is definitely in the acceptable range of scores, and many programs ignore AW scores altogether. however, it wouldn't hurt to ask around at your top destinations. sometimes admissions committees (or a single person on the committee) may like the AW scoring system as a measurement for applicants. in the rare event that it matters then retake the gre. also i wouldn't lose any sleep over it- you CRUSHED verbal anyway!
  2. Interesting facts: 1386 falls in 96th percentile of all GRE test takers 670 verbal is the 94th percentile 45% of the verbal scores fell in the 700-800 range, and 700 flat is the 97th percentile
  3. Sigaba- Of course I worry about risking the entirety of my intellectual credibility on the gradcafe forums as well; especially when making a bias comment about a US president. Those comments are so few and far between, people will really think I'm motivated by some political agenda. I also worry that my inability to not lecture people about mundane things on something as trivial as anonymous forums may eventually ruin my interpersonal reputation. These are my worries.
  4. i think i know the problem: the scores are now out of 170 for each section (not 800). sincerely, Serious Poster
  5. This site is a little depressing insofar as the people who frequent it are more dedicated to academics and, consequently, have higher GRE scores. I celebrated my score (720Q, 640V), until I started reading results/forums here. Waiting sucks.
  6. The 10-15 estimate assumes business days. I called ETS, and they said their policy was to post your scores online after 15 business days. I took the test 12/5/11 and received the scores online on 12/26/11 (after weekends and holidays it was exactly 15 business days ). I received scores in the mail two days later. From my understanding, many people receive their scores via mail before they are even posted online. I called and paid the 12$ to hear my scores on 12/16/11. Totally worth it imho. Small price to pay to calm the nerves.
