  1. Yes - I'm expecting to apply to M.Div programs, and didnt' realize I would have to draft my application geared toward a specific track. I have been very much interested in the wide array of courses I have taken, covering many different fields of a typical undergrad R.S program. Of course, if there was a track that typically had more chance for funding, I would pursue that as finances are really what is the final determining factor between me and div. school/seminary.
  2. Hey Divskool - actually your post in the chicago thread prompted me to post my question here. Thank you again for your awesome insight, it is much appreciated. I wanted to follow up with the FLAS scholarships/funding - do you know any general information about this...and how competitive these might be to receive? It seems like I would pursue a track geared towards one of these languages if there is a good chance for funding. Thanks again!
  3. Great - thank you so much for your information. How valuable / interesting would a candidate with Greek experience be, compared with, Latin, or Arabic for the rigorous Chicago or HDS? Are there certain languages that are more unique and will always grasp an admin's attention that most students simply dont have any experience with?
  4. For students just coming out of college planning on either entering into m.Div/MTS/MA programs... is your proficiency in a language critical in your application? should we focus on languages that we hope to pursue in grad school? or is the language thing not a big deal?
  5. May I ask you all - who did your letter LoRs come from? Were they mostly religious studies/philosophy profs?
  6. Thanks for all your feedback. How significant are GRE scores, in terms of getting an acceptance, and funding?
  7. Hi Sarah - Thank you so much for the information! And congratulations on your acceptance and package at HDS. I will definitely post here with further questions, as HDS is my top choice.
  8. Also applying this fall. Please correct me if I am wrong, but the HDS website clearly states that a GRE is a requirement for all MTS applicants. Also, from my own reading on the forum, it didn't seem HDS is as generous with scholarship/aid as portrayed by previous posts on this thread, especially for MTS students. Maybe someone could chime in on this. Best of luck to everyone getting ready to apply to HDS this fall/winter.
  9. Do you think the M.Div is exclusively for people who intend to pursue church life. Would someone drawn to a totally different professional field, but who is interested in theology and the serious training of the M.Div program be discouraged to apply?
  10. Not to hijack the thread, I am planning to apply to similar programs. N.D requires "At least 18 semester credit hours in philosophy or the equivalent, and 12 credit hours in theology or religious studies" for the m.div program. What exactly is 18 semester credit hours? How do you calculate this? Is it just enough classes to have sat through 18 hours of lecture?
  11. It seems like PTS has the best value in terms of cost. Is it considered a highly regarded seminary and divinity school? How would anyone choose another over PTS?
  12. Hi there I am applying to PTS next year. Would you mind sharing if you received any funding/scholarship and your GPA? Right now its my dream school. Is there a thread of GPa/Acceptance for PTS already out there?
  13. Not to hijack the thread but what is the average range of GPA for PTS' Masters program
