Hi there, I think I will go for Calarts photography this year. I am from Hong Kong =) Nice meeting you all. As a foreigner, I have a few questions in my mind because I have never studied an art degree in the US before. What do you expect from Calarts? Why did you pick Calarts? =)

I agree with you. Even though I got accepted by two famous schools, my finances do not allow me to finish the degree. I can still figure way to collect money right now. =(
-
hm...what makes calarts so great?

hi there, From some yahoo answers and forums, I have heard that "SVA adopts the open admission policy, so most likely a lot of people get accepted". Is this true??? -

I got accepted by SVA's photography, video and related media program for 3 years. But they said they will not give any financial aid to internatinoal applicant. I got accepted by calarts as well. Like you said, they will send out the offer before early april. I am torn between these two options -
Hi there, Anyone have any experience with this program? I am accepted to study 3 years since I do not have a bachelor degree in photography. But that's loads of money.... I am confused right now.

If you are, please let me know. I hope I can talk to u!! thanks

I haven't been to calarts before so I don't know if it has nearby galleries. calarts program is a 2-year program and SVA is a 3-year program. 3 years is a bit too long for me!! Money is a big concern. SVA seems more costly then calarts =(
-
I did call calarts. They said the financial aid depends on students' need, ranging from 1000 - 10,000.
-
In terms of photography rankings, calarts is higher. What are the advantages and disadvantages of studying in these schools??? Sounds that calarts will give financial aid to students. So I am inclined to pick this school. What do you think??

I wish I applied for schools that are generous to help students. =( This is the first time I applied for grad school in the US. I hadn't thought that many students, even the locals, are under immerse stress about money!! Fingers crossed for everyone awaiting the result of financial aid! -

Since I am a fresh graduate, I don't have much real full-time working experience. So I think I will work for at least a year and defer the acceptance for a year. But still I don't think I can afford it without any scholarship even after a year . I have applied all the scholarships I can in Hong Kong. So the only possible way is to take out loans. Hm.....I will feel guilit to rely on my family all the time like this. =( Any updates from u, cxxxxx? btw, I like your self-portrait! I do self-portrait too for my portfolio =) -

Yea...I have never thought of high-quality education in the US is such a luxrious good!! =( I am waiting the financial aid decision to be released soon in early april. Hopefully, they will offer me enough aid. But I don't think they will, due to the fact that I am an international applicant I guess. Seriously considering to defer my acceptance....=( I want to cry!!!!!! -

hi , miyamoto81, But the point is I am an international applicant, so I don't think I can choose to apply different scholarship or apply for US government loan. That really stress me out. I am desperately finding scholarship for international applicants right now =( Otherwise, I am seriously considering to defer my acceptance =( -
