Foreign Service Officer Career Question
domnulsl replied to brien2000's topic in Government Affairs Forum
I agree with all the comments above. I took the FSOT last Thursday; it wasn't hard. I need to score better than 60% of all test-takers. After the writing test, there will be 6 essays and then if we passed that then we are invited for the all-day interview, then more waiting. So it is a long process and I'm not gonna make the cut....( -

Accepted at Georgetown with lackluster funding
domnulsl replied to BMCGirl10's topic in Government Affairs Forum
Yep, I'm in the same boat; I'd probably have to get BUTT-NAKED like Lindsay Lohan to pay for my study. So loans and a cheaper school for me. Instead of doing an expensive 2-year program at SAIS, I'm leaning toward a good 16-month program at Maxwell even though it would probably be real nice hanging out in DC. -

Syracuse Maxwell School Admissions Notifications
domnulsl replied to walker's topic in Waiting it Out
It depends on the programs. For example, Denver's Korbel, SAIS, and Elliott don't give out decisions till early March. I have a friend who still waiting on Maxwell, dude got a better stat than me for sure. So don't lose hope yet. -
Syracuse Maxwell School Admissions Notifications
domnulsl replied to walker's topic in Waiting it Out
I don't know if we are applied to the same program but I applied to MAIR at Maxwell and received my acceptance email last Tuesday; I applied around January 5th. I understand that the admission committee is reviewing incoming applications last Monday. Even though, it is on a rolling basic, it's still very early. All my other programs will not hang out decisions till late Feb or Mid March. So just hang in there and give them a call after Feb. 15 to check on your status. Let me know if your have other questions. -

Encouraged to apply for scholarships?
domnulsl replied to MYRNIST's topic in Government Affairs Forum
Yeah, I'm gonna try to keep myself busy with the essays until acceptance decisions arrived. The W.W. Norton & Company Fellowship offers 2 lucky candidates; I don't know about the other twos. The essay about "2012 election year and diplomacy" would be a time-consuming activity. -

I received the same email from SAIS but not from Elliott. I didn't even pay attention to it since acceptance decision ain't rolling out till March. But Maxwell did sent me an email about scholarship offerings 2 days before accepting me in the first round. So let's hope this is a good sign!!!! -
