Man...it's so nerve-wracking for me because I'm the weird position of having worked for 7 years in research that makes my degree choice really relevant...but it's all been during my schooling. Yale seems to cite 'post-bacc experience' as being almost a top priority for them. I hope they see potential in people who come straight from undergrad... @kld0608 I'm in the EXACT position you are, only I got in to the MPA-ESP through early action. Enrolled, but probably will withdraw because they refused to give me any $$ help No later than the 14th means it might as well be today :S Good luck everyone!

Also just got in to Harris. Do they reveal your scholarship award with your admissions letter? I didn't get anything explicit for them, probably going to ring them up endlessly...sigh. Not going to go without scholly though. Might defer if Yale dings me. P.S. I'm international, if anyone outside the US is waiting on decisions!

Samesies haha. but given their admissions event on the 20th, I bet we'll hear by the 15th, maybe even earlier..

Yale is having FES Admitted Students events as early as March 20th. Looks like the first wave will definitely go out on time next week! Good luck everyone http://environment.yale.edu/events/detail/41191

Chicago Harris MPP "Application Manager"
kkdk replied to Crippling Anxiety's topic in Government Affairs Forum
I'm international, I haven't heard anything yet. Usually they went out a little later than 2/28...last year people posted e-mail notifications around 3-5 March. American decisions rolled out as early as 10-11 though. -
Harris sometimes rolls out decisions to international applicants in the 1st week of March...

Ugh...I'm too scared to even guess my chances at Yale. But at 34% acceptance rate is a sign of hope!

Sorry to hear tiredwaiting I submitted an executive summary for a consulting project as a writing sample but no diversity statement--felt it would be disingenuous to attempt that. Diversity statements seem to be for non-traditional applicants or people with extenuating/unconventional circumstances...

There was a Yale FES Masters rejection just posted. I realize the Forestry (that is, if the post was indeed a Forestry masters applicant) and MEM timelines are different, but in the interest of aggravating my nerves, I wonder if this has any implications for us MEM-ers. Thoughts?

Doubtful about Yale for Feb...they say around March 15. based on the last 2 years they've been pretty good at getting decisions out on time. My first choice is Yale!!

@cunninlynguist: make that 6!! Program Applied To: MEM, MPA, MS Schools Applied To: Yale FES (MEM), Harris UChicago (MS Env Policy), SIPA (MPA-ESP) Schools Accepted To: SIPA (MPA-ESP) no funding... Undergraduate Institution: McGill (Montreal Canada) Undergraduate GPA: 3.4 (4.0 last semester) Undergraduate Major: Chemical Engineering, Environment Minor GRE Quantitative Score: 162 GRE Verbal Score: 162 GRE AW Score: 5.5 Years Out of Undergrad (if applicable): 0 Years of Work Experience: 7 Describe Relevant Work Experience: Significant fuel cell research experience from high school through my undergrad. Two major internships with Greenpeace and a renowned lawyer in India. Also do work organizing scientific competitions and tutoring on the side. Strength of SOP: I think I show I have a very clear focus on relationship between technology and policy and how my background in engineering and internships in policy/rights analysis show this combination. Hoping that my good fortune in developing professional skills working in a lab might off set my age/lack of "post-graduate" experience. fingers crossed! Strength of LOR: Two probably very good, from a current supervisor and the head of an organization I've volunteered for over several years. Third probably decent, haven't seen him in 5 years but my work helped obtain a patent in both our names. P.S. I received correspondence from Angela Kuhne about the lack of work experience--she said that while they do admit only 10-15% of their class straight out of undergrad, they value internship experience and part-time work. Maybe there's hope!
