  1. Did anyone find out about the USTA Austria alternate pool and how that works? And perhaps how many alternates there are?
  2. I just got that as well. I'm an alternate. Not sure if I'll withdraw my status or not. Not sure how likely it is that I'll end up getting placed somewhere.
  3. I would but I have e-mailed them way too many times... And as for not hearing by now... I feel as if it's likely that we're alternates.
  4. I think some brave soul should e-mail them about the Austrian USTA and ask why some of us haven't heard. Their office is open today for another 2 1/2 hours. Someone willing to call or e-mail them?
  5. Seriously, I know! I am assuming we will hear Tuesday, but if not, then we must be alternates. Do you know anything about how they normal send out acceptances?
  6. @ Liz, thanks for the info. I don't get it. I wish I knew whether or not there is still a chance I'll be accepted. Arghh. :-)
  7. I feel that I proved my language ability because I did pass the B2 exam last year and they were made aware of that. I really think it was my essay, everything else was very strong.
  8. hello German ETAs... I was wondering if those of you that were offered the assistantship would mind sending me your essays or posting them here. I felt that I was a strong candidate (and I still feel that I am) but was rejected. I assume it was due to the essay I sent to Fulbright Germany. I am looking to apply again for 2013-2014 and was hoping to improve the quality of my application! Thank you so much in advance to Austrian USTAs-has anyone not heard, or know of anyone who hasn't heard? Is the fact that I haven't heard by now a bad sign, meaning that I am an alternate or have been rejected? Or is it possible that they haven't sent out all of the acceptance letters yet? Thanks again, Molly
  9. I would assume that if we havent heard by now for the AUSTRIAN assistantship that it means we are alternates. They probably sent out all acceptances today, didn't they?
  10. Theod-I also didn't hear anything today. Think this means we're alternates? I hope not
  11. Thanks for the info Did anyone else hear anything?
  12. What time did other people hear from USTA Austria?
  13. Linz is a really cool city
  14. What time did you hear if I may ask? (USTA AUSTRIA)
  15. I haven't heard anything about the Austria USTA Congrats!!!
  16. Also, if we don't hear anything tomorrow there is no need to start refreshing your inbox until Tuesday, as Monday is a holiday in Austria (Easter Monday). I'd also like to add that students from my school that were accepted last year all found out on the same day. The one student who ended up being an alternate didn't hear anything until several weeks later. I believe he had to end up contacting them regarding his status. Perhaps someone should e-mail them and ask what the exact date is going to be? I would by I've already e-mailed them way too many times. Good luck to everyone!
  17. For those of you interested in the USTA process. I have been stalking their website and they have a new document up which also outlines the time frame. Here is the link: http://www.fulbright.at/fileadmin/user_upload/US_teaching_assistantships/resources/Pre-departure_Handbook.pdf
  18. Has anyone heard anything regarding the Austrian Teaching Assistantship? I know someone who got a rejection letter last thursday via e-mail, and since then I haven't heard anything.... Any thoughts?
  19. He heard via e-mail.
  20. Has anyone heard from Austria about the USTA (teaching assistantship?) A friend of mine just heard that they got rejected... I haven't received an e-mail and I'm freaking out.
  21. Germany ETA: Rejected. Good luck to everyone else.
  22. ahhh....im dying...refresh e-mail....refresh e-mail...
  23. I doubt they will notify us tomorrow morning...I wish. They'll probably make us wait until late at night
