It's so weird that UW responds so late in the game. With so many people applying to different places, you would think UW would want to match other schools in order to get the best applicants accepting. By the time we get our UW responses, most people won't be accepting. On the bright side, maybe that means they'll accept way more people knowing they'll only admit a handful. I think this would improve my chances.

Hi everyone, I've been away for a while but my interest has piqued again as decisions season begins. I only applied at UWashington, and it appears as though decisions there come in by late March. I know that for some of you, decisions are coming in over a couple of months time, making it harder to accept/reject later decisions. Maybe that will work in my favor... of the 200+ people who applied, maybe most will have accepted elsewhere by the time UW decisions come out! Anyways, good luck everyone!

Hi everyone, I applied to UWashington as my only school.. Yep, all of my eggs in one basket. It's really the only school I want to attend so it's all or nothing. I have a backup plan... I already teach nearly full time, but I really need a PhD to get a full time teaching job. So it's UW or the status quo. I'm interested in researching the intersection of media, technology, and politics, and I'm especially interested in looking at how digital media affects democracy in developing countries. UW has profs who are basically my heroes in this area, so I really hope to get in! Nick
