  1. Haven't heard anything about WUSTL here or on any of the other sites yet.
  2. Dinged by Stanford. No surprise there, but it was totally worth a shot.
  3. American (mostly behavior) and methods.
  4. It seems a bit odd, but there is a rather large random factor in graduate admissions. The IL committee might not have liked me as much as UNC's. It's also possible that UIUC wasn't looking for (as many?) people in my subfield this year. Lots of possibilities.
  5. Congratulations!
  6. I was waitlisted yesterday.
  7. Congratulations!
  8. Thanks! I think it's safe to assume that Illinois has decided whom to offer admittance to seeing as how I got a wait list notification. Whether or not they'd started notifying those people is another question entirely, as they may be wrestling with questions of who gets how much funding.
  9. Thanks. You're right, though. If I had gotten these decisions before UNC, I'd be MUCH more stressed. With an offer in hand, this isn't too painful. Good luck. There'll likely be a lot of decisions being sent out this and next week. I'm sure you and everyone else will get some good offers.
  10. Rejected by OSU via their website and wait listed by Illinois. I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get into OSU, but it's cool. I think I might have taken UNC over them anyway. I'd almost certainly choose UNC over Illinois, though, so that's not a big deal. I could still get an offer from them anyway. Got one decision of each type now, sweet!
  11. Thanks As an aside, I don't think I've posted my stats. They are as follows: 700Q(72%), 580V(81%), 5.5AW(88%), 3.57 overall GPA, and 3.77 major and "upper division course" GPA.
  12. Congratulations on your acceptance to WashU!
  13. Just got an e-mail from UNC. I'm in there. I guess they'll be contacting me about funding soon.
  14. I check WUSTL's page probably a dozen times a day now that several rejections have been posted. The rest I check once a day, which I'm sure will (unfortunately) change once people begin reporting decisions by them.
  15. I know how that goes. Mine have been completed since the beginning of October.
  16. Congrats on the acceptance to FSU! I've not yet received notice from tOSU. Judging by the entries here and on Yuster, Ohio State usually seems to start notifying people of decisions in early February, so perhaps I'll know more next week.
  17. I'm sorry to hear that, dude. Out of curiosity, did they send you an e-mail or did you just see it on the website after randomly checking?
  18. Where have you applied and what are your fields?
  19. Defnitely true. Maybe not so much for political theorists, but certainly for nearly everyone else.
  20. Actually, the quantitative section is by far the most important portion of the test for much of the social science, most prominently econ (math is disguise) and political science (stats).
  21. Stanford, Berkeley, San Diego, Texas, TAMU, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Illinois, Duke, and WUSTL. I thought about applying to MIT but decided against it because I'm no fan of cold weather (despite my application to Wisconsin). Now that Ansolabehere has taken a job at Harvard, I suppose I saved myself the cost of the application because he was the primary reason I'd thought about applying there.
  22. I have a friend who's gotten interviews at Missouri (they make their admissions decisions today, I guess) and Indiana so far. I think she's still waiting to hear from three or four more schools. No rejections yet. She's applying at Ed.S/masters programs of some kind.
  23. I've not heard anything yet and don't really expect to until early February. I know someone on one of the Livejournal forums got in at American, but that was for a masters program. Where have you applied besides Texas?
  24. I bet it doesn't matter too much, but a good score will naturally look better than a poor one. Some quant skills could actually be valuable for some historians though, so I wouldn't write it off.
