As do I. The political science who_got_in thread on LJ had almost 1250 posts last year. So far, this year's has 68.
-
Cool. Thanks for the information.

Looks like Davis has a better placement record than UVA. I'm not an IR guy, so I can't really say anything about their faculties. Talk to your advisers.
-
Congrats to whoever got into WashU. Great, great program.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_casual A tucked in polo shirt with khakis would likely be acceptable.

My roommate will be checking the mail for me when he goes home for lunch today.
-
Congrats!

No. If they offer you admittance, just quickly and graciously turn them down.
-
"Doom or glory." I like that. A professor isn't going to bother calling you unless your application is being seriously considered.

Mid-March? Wisconsin's website says they'll begin notifying applicants by mail at the beginning of February (which leads me to believe the first acceptance post, since it was by mail. They may have changed their policy between now and last year).
-
Thanks! What are your fields of interest? Mine are American (behavior, campaigns, and parties) and methods.
-
I don't mean to say that the Wisconsin posts are fake. They could be accurate, it's just that they look a little suspicious considering the method by which admits have been notified in recent years. If someone posted about it in this thread, I'd believe it.
-
I know what you mean. I was lucky enough that my first decision was an acceptance from a good program (UNC), so I guess I've been able to be a little bit less stressed out during the rest of the process. It won't be so bad once you get your first admittance.
-
No need to fret. My status is still unchanged, too. We'll know soon enough, but it seems a bit suspect to me because judging by the archives, Wisconsin has notified its admits via e-mail. None of the three admits from this cycle have reported being contacted via e-mail, so color me skeptical, especially since none of them have posted in this thread. We'll see. I could be way off.
-
Yeah, no change there either. It still says "pending."
-
Nothing has changed for me yet either.
-
Rejected by Berkeley via E-mail. Ah, well.
-
Yeah, I'm getting the same from UNC. TAMU, on the other hand....well, no one's bothered to contact me yet.
-
Congrats on Brandeis! We'll probably start hearing from Texas in early March. They're slow. I don't know about the rest of your schools, though.
-
The only one I checked online was OSU's. They have an application status page. I didn't receive an e-mail, I simply checked on my own. WashU also has a website to check your status at. They say they will e-mail you when you status has changed.

I was accepted by Texas A&M by mail without having received any personal contact beforehand.
-
The new one is vastly superior to the old user interface.
-
Thanks, all!

Just got an acceptance letter from Texas A&M. I'm in with a tuition waiver and a pretty nice looking assistantship. The recruitement weekend is March 28-30th.

Sorry to hear that. Those ivies are tough to get into.
