Phone interview with PSU tomorrow! Flying to Cranbrook on the 2nd for an in-person interview on the 3rd! Extremely nervous!

I had my phone interview last Tuesday but I haven't heard anything since then. Apparently there is a second interview, in-person. This is for Photo specifically. Not sure about the other concentrations.

Cranbrook Photo phone interview today. Told to expect something by Friday.

Rutgers denial via email. Two down, three to go!

Hey all, I've applied to RISD, Cornell, Rutgers, University of Illinois-Chicago and University of Washington-Seattle. So far I've been denied from UIC and no news other than that. Anyone else apply to University of Washington in Seattle?

So far I'm applying to: UW, RISD, Cornell and Rutgers. Do you know much about UIC in terms of funding?

I'll be applying for photo/ photomedia. I'm looking for a grad program to prepare me for a career in academia as well as furthering my education in still and moving image. I'm in the process of updating my website with more work so there isn't a whole lot up for the next few weeks. Thanks for the feedback!

So I'm posting here to hope to get some opinions on what I should do in my current predicament. I was accepted to a new MFA program that is offering me in loans what I would need, but I don't know that the debt is worth it. It would be about $80k in public loans. I'm already in quite a bit of debt from undergrad, but with the new IBR plan things are working out nicely. I am working a job that is not related to my field at all and doesn't pay well, so the idea of leaving and returning to school is more than appealing. My question is do you think that I should attend the program at a really prestigious school (in general, not specifically the new art program) since I'll already be paying loans for 20 years until they dissolve, or wait and apply to places with funding options? Thanks in advance!

Accepted to Duke!! Now to determine if they can help me pay the $75K cost of the two year program. :(

I just called Tyler and they said my application is "still being reviewed." They told me if I don't hear anything by next week then I should call back. Is anyone else in this boat? I mean, I haven't heard a yes, no, or waitlist response. This is crazy to me.

Yes, we are waitlisted. Hopefully all the people granted admission will decide soon so we'll know whether or not we've been pulled from the pool. Here's to hoping!

I just got an email confirming that all of my materials had been received and my application is currently being reviewed at Tyler. Isn't it a little late?

Any photo applicants not heard one way or the other from Tyler? It's pretty late to not be notifying people one way or another, especially when interviews have happened. Not on my list of schools I'm planning to reapply to next year after this..

finally got word from DUKE. I'm on the alternate list! ;_; more waiting!

I was told yesterday by a Duke employee that it wasn't likely that we would hear until April.

plenty of professors at my undergrad, VCU were covered in tattoos and had lots of piercings. It's pretty highly ranked. It doesn't matter.

Still no word from Duke. I called admissions and was told that I'd know "before April 15." Apparently they make their PHD decisions before MA/MFA so looks like we've gotta wait. ;/

Out of curiousity has anyone else simply not heard anything from Tyler one way or the other? I'm a little worried.

Just got an email from Hunter for Photo - denied. 2 down, 2 to go! Not looking too good for me this go-round. :[

denied from UT Austin VIA email referring me to their status check website. Bummer. 1 down, three to go!

Just got word from UT Austin, denied.

My status has said "incomplete: items outstanding" since February, even though when I call they assure me everything was received and my application has been sent to the panel for review. I'm so stressed about it.
