  1. Ok I see. So I guess the wait continues... That makes it interesting, to say the least.
  2. So it appears all admissions decisions are out. However, I have heard that MSFS released the decisions today, yet I have not received anything. What could that mean?
  3. I have not received an email of acceptance, waitlist, or rejection. What could this possibly mean?!?!
  4. Funny. I'm staying with a friend within minutes from GU, and I'm tempted to go knock on some doors... But wait I shall.
  5. Today is the day we will find out about Rangel! I was super impressed with my fellow Rangel interviewees, and I have every confidence in their ability to perform well in the Foreign Service. Good luck to everyone!
  6. Thank you, GW, for another heart-stopping email to let us know that admissions decisions will be available in mid-March.
  7. Fully Funded 1. Georgetown - SFS (MSFS) 2. George Washington - Elliott (MA) 3. American University - SIS (MA) Self-Financed (Loans & Employment During School) 1. GW 2. American 3, Georgetown
  8. Yes if you're referring to the new SIS building, I can't wait to see it. I have apps in at three schools, and I am weighing them all equally at this point. If accepted at all of them, I don't want to just jump at my current top choice... I want to be sure. So I see you were accepted for MAGES. Congrats on that. So do you have any idea of when they will announce MSFS acceptances?
  9. Just thought I should mention that some admissions committees scan these forums. To what extent that would influence their decision about admitting you is anyone's guess... but just fyi.
  10. Hey everyone, I was a Boren Scholar in 2009-2010 (Kenya). Feel free to drop any Q's.
  11. Hello everyone. I'm currently on a Fulbright U.S. Student grant for the 2011-2012 cycle. I'm in Tanzania. Feel free to ask any Q's.
  12. Good to hear it from someone on the inside. Thank you for the info!
  13. The ability of schools like GW-Elliott to post all decisions at once probably has to do with the size of the programs. Also, the date of receiving the decision might have to do with the time you apply (all of my apps were in at least a month before the deadline). American-SIS probably expects a few people in the first round of acceptances to turn down the offer based on admissions decisions from other schools.
  14. Well if they do that would be awesome... But considering the amount of students they accept each year it might be a little closer to what they say on the website. http://www.american.edu/sis/admissions/faq/index.cfm#deadline
  15. Yes Applied for American SIS - MA International Affairs (International Politics) program. Admissions decisions are early to mid-April http://www.american.edu/sis/admissions/faq/index.cfm#deadline

  17. Actually Rangel chooses the 20 awardees, which must be accepted within a short amount of time. Then when all 20 Rangel Fellows have accepted, this list is communicated to Pickering. Pickering then withdraws any of those names from consideration for the Pickering Fellowship. So anyone (applicant or finalist) who was not selected as one of the 20 Rangel Fellows still has the chance (but no guarantee)to be considered for the Pickering. Make sense?! Best of luck with both, though!
  18. I'm interviewing in Wednesday, the 14th. I also plan to visit admissions departments since all the schools I applied for are in DC. COngrats on being selected as a finalist and best of luck with the interview. P
  19. So I just received an email from Pickering confirming that my application is eligible for consideration. There were 270 completed applications this year.
  20. Thanks for the info... Hmm... I'm curious to know how you know this. Would Pickering know who the 40 Rangel finalists are before the 20 Fellows are chosen? I've also heard of one person who interviewed as a finalist for the Rangel, was not selected, and then was awarded the Pickering. Thanks again

  22. Just found out I'm a finalist for Rangel, so I figured I would join the discussion. I'm also waiting to hear about the Pickering. Does anyone have an idea of when Pickering will announce finalists? Also, what would you do if offered the Rangel, then the following month offered the Pickering? Cheers & good luck everyone!
