  1. Thisoldhouse--I would email them. I emailed the DGS, and she got back to me and told me I'd gotten in. They do it on a rolling basis, so you might be waiting a bit longer if you don't get in contact.
  2. Whoops!! Has anyone else heard about the MA? I only applied to that at Columbia (not the PhD), and I haven't heard anything!!
  3. To those who have found decisions online, where were they? Nothing had changed in my account, that I know of, at least!
  4. Wait, you just got an email out of the blue? This is so strange! What is UVA doing?!
  5. I'm so confused about why we've had to wait this long for the MA decisions--you're totally right that they seem to have already rejected like 10000000 PhD candidates!! What's up, Brown?!
  6. I am also waiting on Brown!! I tOyed with the idea of emailing, but then was wayyyy too afraid!! Any news from anyone?
  7. It's hard to know what to do, at this point, the only PhD that's accepted me is Tufts, and I'm not sure if it would e better to get an MA and en re-apply a year from now. Very confusing. Anyways, I hope we all hear from Chicago soon, just to end the waiting!
  8. Also, as a lost undergraduate in this process, I'm curious if those who were admitted already had MAs? Is it a more practical way to go about this process (MA first)?
  9. THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS?!?!? As if this process hasn't dragged along for long enough?!
  10. Why hasn't Chicago sent out its rejections yet?! It looks like from last year it might be figuring out who it's going to offer the MA?
  11. But was today Harvard day? What's going on with that one? There was a lone admit!
  12. Apparently there was an article in the Yale paper about every graduate department having to conduct interviews? I don't know if it's actually happening. Out of curiosity, I noticed that you were applying to Chicago--did you hear from them? I saw a bunch of acceptances posted on their page (I mean, in this website)...
  13. To the person who got the interview, may I ask what your area of specialty is?
  14. Did you ever hear anything more about Stanford interviews?
  15. Dear English Literature PhD applicants, I'm feeling quite at sea over this whole interview business, and I wondered if anyone out there could shed some much-needed light on a little question I've had tumbling around for a while. What's the deal with Stanford and Yale for their English Literature PhD programs? I've noticed that in past years Stanford posters have recorded getting interviews, but this year, none have cropped up thus far. What's going on? Have they already gone out? With Yale, it appears to be their first year including interviews in the application process, but, again, no one has recorded having one for the English program, though History, Art History, and other languages seem to have already notified for interviews. Again, has anyone heard anything? I'm feeling a bit stressed and immensely curious about this, so if anyone has any insight, it would be hugely appreciated!
