@perrykm2, those boots are so cute I don't know who else is also in their final year of undergrad, but I know that this entire experience is just more stressful because of it. Finishing applications in the middle of finals week was bad, but now I also have to sit around and basically wait for my future to be decided for me. I went away for college, so I don't exactly have a 'home' with my parents (plus, ew, Florida). The lease on my apartment is up May 31st so I won't even have much of a buffer to figure things out after commencement. Apparently my Plan B is becoming a homeless college graduate. -

This. I'll be more upset about all the wasted money (including 3,000 Kaplan course) than having to actually wait another year and reapply. -
I just posted the most recent rejection. Good luck guys.

I'm UMass Amherst, I'm pretty sure they went to the main campus? I know Sonic Youth did too, and I occasionally run into J Mascis doing random things about town... **aaaand just got my first rejection of the season. Defeatist attitude setting in. -

I would just like to say, as a recent discoverer of this website/forum, that this website is ruining my life/ability to finish homework in a timely manner. -

I guess an email congratulating me on making Dean's List will have to hold me over for the rest of the evening -__- -
As per the email thing, I'm not sure what you're all talking about because my email spot is blank and I got that update last night? **and now I'm freaking out because it says they only have one of my transcripts and I attended two universities, but I can't remember if this was the school that made me scan all of my files into one PDF....

oh god don't even get me started thinking about Brown.

The Tufts email is throwing me for a loop too. Why are there no UMD/UMass notifications? I submitted my UMD app in November... I don't even have senioritis, I have constantly-refeshing-grad-app-itis. -
If I'm thinking of the correct online application, Tufts was the worst. It kept erasing all of my information every time i moved on to a new section.

I honestly don't even think decisions will be that "soon," they've typically notified mid-late march and their submission due date was January 15th...

I didn't post that, but I also applied.

Yes, it does say that Americanists are exempt from subject test scores on the english homepage http://www.umass.edu/english/graduate/admissions.html Like I said, they are so scattered! I probably wouldn't have even known that myself if i didn't get my specialization IN American Studies/was in constant contact with the director. I doubt if you submitted it they will even look at it. A professor told me last week that they were asking around for extra help to review writing samples because they were so overloaded. Maybe they had a higher than average number of applicants? He kind of made it seem like it decisions weren't being made any time (super) soon. -

I think I submitted both my subject test/general together, but UMass doesn't require the subject for any Americanists. Mine is blank as well. -
Pretty positive this will be my first rejection, but I submitted in november and i'm just dying to hear something already.

I applied to the sequential MA/PhD program too and i was surprised to see admits already on the board. Their deadline was Dec 17, seems kind of early. I also wish they had more of a 'status' page, you can't check anything online :/ -

Hi! Current UMass undegrad here, also applying to their MA/PhD program. I understand your frustration, even as a UMass undergrad not much was effectively communicated to me. I even had to pay the admissions fee and send my own transcripts within the school! And the whole writing program thing is super bizarre.. strange that they have such a complicated process for a not-so prestigious program (except for maybe Rennaisance studies). I didn't even know you had to indicate which two letters you wanted them to use! They also make it seem on the website that you can be accepted into the department but not the writing program. I also emailed Wanda Bak about what else to submit because their reccomendations on the website are all over the place, but it's like, why say you required a writing sample and then not have a spot for it on the online application/provide any other details about it!? Thankfully everything has been marked as received on the status page for awhile, but it's still very unorganized.
