I've decided on Princeton.

Got my thick CUNY envelope yesterday (although I'd heard unofficially about ten days ago), still no word on funding. Michigan was supposedly going to nominate me for a merit fellowship, but I got an email saying that the funding package was ready to view -- it's only loans and work study that covers about half of tuition costs...when I have a full ride at Princeton with full health coverage and a very generous stipend? No thank you!

Same for Yale, which is depressing, since a couple days ago I attended a fantastic talk by James Hepokoski on the Heiliger Dankgesang...I was, of course, too scared to ask him if he knew anything about admissions.

The Harvard Massacre begins! Just got my rejection in the mail a few minutes ago. Exact same letter as last year (how boring), except it came ten days earlier.

Haven't heard anything from Harvard or Yale -- it's about time to start assuming that I've been rejected

Thanks, guys. I got rejected (rather, massacred =D) across the board last year, so it's good to not not get in for once! Incidentally, do you happen to know the relative rankings of the programs that I've applied to? The online stuff seems to be shoddy, and I keep hearing conflicting reports from professors (especially about Princeton -- they have quite a small faculty, but they all seem brilliant). I'm slightly worried about what my chances would be at landing a tenure-track position, since the program is rather unstructured (plus, it's a Musicology PhD and not a Theory PhD), but, on the other hand, it's Princeton.

Hi all, Any idea what's going on with Harvard or Yale? I applied in music theory (also to CUNY, Michigan and Princeton -- I have an interview from CUNY, and admittance to Michigan and Princeton).
