  1. It was a quiet weekend for me too. I'm only waiting to hear back from one program, but when they waitlisted me they said "all decisions will be made by April 15," which has obviously passed. And Patriots Day is a pseudo-holiday in Massachusetts so I didn't hear anything yesterday. So that means I'll definitely hear something today. Right? Right!? Just as I was about to submit this, I got an email with the decision. I got in off the waitlist. So happy right now. Can't believe it. Good luck to everyone else
  2. So for these of us sitting in purgatory on waitlists, should we expect to hear something today since April 15 is a Sunday?
  3. Sooo what do we do now? Email all the programs we haven't heard from and ask what the deal is?
  4. Just got an email back. Waitlisted Edit: If you got accepted and decide not to go, please let them know. I will love you forever. I am going to write a follow-up letter now and keep my fingers crossed until April 15th.
  5. Thanks for the info. I also emailed the coordinator (Brian Lewis) 2 days ago about my status and he said "you should receive information on the status of your application by early next week." I actually applied straight into the PhD program (GSBS) and got rejected (my application still says "under review" though), but Dr. Lewis suggested I consider the PGSP instead. I didn't have to do anything extra so of course I said yes. I didn't get into any other PhD programs either so I would LOVE to do the PGSP to bolster my application for next year.
  6. Anyone interested in Clark Uni Anyone interested in Clark University/Worcester should read my post I agree with with everything you said.

    Worcester, MA

I went to undergrad at Clark so I can say a little bit. Basically, I didn't really like Worcester that much, but you get what you pay for; it's much cheaper (bars, groceries, rent, etc.) than other big cities like Boston (obviously). I lived comfortably in a 2 bedroom apt. about 0.3 mile away from campus (6 minute walk) paying about ~$450 a month for rent + utilities, and there are probably even better deals than this because this apartment was kind of a last minute thing. There are buses for public transportation but I never used it once and honestly don't know anyone who did. There is no subway or anything. Having a car or knowing someone who does will be a HUGE help, but not completely necessary because Clark does have an escort service that can drive/pick you up within ~0.5 mile of the campus, which does include a grocery store called Price Chopper. And there are plenty of bars within walking distance of Clark on Main St. and Park Ave. For me, the biggest negative about Clark was the area. Not all of Worcester is bad, but Clark is definitely in a crummy area. It's a shame because even just 2.5 miles away at WPI is a much nicer/"cleaner" area. There are also nicer bars on both Main St. (near WPI) and Water St., but those are ~2 miles away so it's not walkable (this is where having a car helps). At night, I was never really scared walking around (I'm a guy), but you will learn to avoid certain streets (Beaver St., Crystal St.) and get emails from campus police every now and then about incidents. The campus itself is also pretty small - 95% of it is basically on just a couple blocks (see this map) and with only ~3200 total students, you will get used to seeing the same people over and over. Feel free to ask any more questions if you have any and I'll try to answer them.
  8. It's not a Masters or PhD program, but has anyone heard back from the UMass Med School PGSP?
  9. First year applicant here. Ten schools applied to, four rejections so far and no communication whatsoever from the other six, which leads me to believe are also rejections (no contact for an interview or anything is a pretty bad sign). When I was in high school and applying for college, I got in to all five or six schools so I thought I should have applied to "better" schools. Looks like I made the opposite mistake this time and applied to too man top schools. Oh well, I guess another year being a research assistant for me...
