  1. Has anyone heard of UCLA contacting any new media people or painters yet?
  2. Rutgers online statuses have been updated, rejection...
  3. No one has heard back from Rutgers painting yet, or so it seems.

    2013 MFA Results?

Haven't heard from Rutgers yet. For your signature, click on your username at the top right of the screen, click on "My Settings" then click on the "Signature" link in the left hand bar on the settings page.
  5. I don't think getting your BFA would help you very much, it would be better to just work on your portfolio.
  6. Columbia: People have heard back, you can check Slideroom and if under "Submissions" your program name says "Painting 2013" and not "Painting 2013 MFA" you are probably out of the running. Or so it seems looking at evidence from the past couple years. Calling probably isn't going to get you anywhere. Rutgers: As far as we know no one applying to painting at Rutgers has been notified yet, last year I think people were hearing into the first week of March. RISD: I think some people have heard about interviews, someone correct me if I am wrong. UCLA: I don't think anyone has heard anything back who applied to painting, once again, someone correct me if I am wrong. Carnegie Mellon: Don't know anything, sorry.
  7. I don't understand this statement, the K Foundation burning a million quid points at the "BS PROCESS" of Bemis? The people you scammed? The Turner Prize? I think people deciding to burn a million pounds, all the money they had and more than most people can ever make is an interesting act, not something that can actually be taken as lightly as so many other acts of protest or political action. If only for the true difficulty that exists in making that choice and following through.
  8. $40, give me a break: K_Foundation_Burn_a_Million_Quid http://youtu.be/o4uQtOQwLGE
  9. I actually applied to printmaking at Columbia and have not heard anything, and based on my Slideroom application I am assuming rejection. Skowhegan is definitely still hard to get into, but I feel like the take people from a broader range of backgrounds. This will be my 3rd time applying, not overly optimistic, but I would like to think it would happen for me one day.
  10. Yeah, it didn't always used to be this way, but I have noticed this too over the past few years. Better chances with Skowhegan. By the way, does anyone remember around when we should be hearing from Skowhegan?
  11. It's hard not to freak out (when I saw you were posting in here I assumed you were going to say you had been accepted to Rutgers and I was going to have to scratch it off my list) but looking through last years forum this seems to just be how it goes with Rutgers. People were hearing back via e-mail, phone calls, and the status page for a few weeks. I don't know what is going on with UCLA, I visited the school and went to an information session and the admissions woman seemed pretty adamant that they don't interview. But all the evidence seems to be to the contrary, what is up with that? I know that one of the painters that I talked to there said she hadn't been interviewed, but just got a call saying that she was excepted. Has anyone heard that their references were being called? They also seemed to insist they only did that if they had "specific questions," whatever that might mean. Then there is the elusive USC, which it seems like no one knows anything about. I actually forgot to bring a pen with me to the info session there, so... Hopefully we can both hear back some good news from Rutgers soon, I am pretty excited by their program and they are actually reasonably priced.
  12. Still says no decision. I don't think Rutgers has made any decisions about painters yet. Or at least that is what I am hoping. Looking at last years forum it seems like people were getting accepted by Rutgers into early March.
  13. Columbia notifies for interviews the end of February to the very first week of March. Rejections don't tend to come until end of March/early April. Its still early.
