  1. I also got into that program. Quite a relief since I was getting anxious after my rejection from american.
  2. Me too! Accepted to Elliott! I was rejected for AU SIS so opening this one nearly gave me a heart attack...I'm so incredibly relieved! AND it's friday. Time for a celebration Mine said next week for funding as well.
  3. GW started releasing! I got in! Good luck everyone!!
  4. I got into Elliott! Can't believe it! Rejected by the first one (that felt terrible), accepted by the next. I'M SO RELIEVED! holy crap...thought I might actually have to start looking for another job - who wants to do that? PHEW! YAY! Time to celebrate. Some money would be nice too...fingers crossed.
  5. Thanks for all the encouragement! It helps to keep me positive. I definitely think it was my SOP that got me, and certainly there are some that I wrote that were stronger than the others - probably correlates to how much I like the program. In hindsight, choosing to apply to 8 schools was too many. I would've been better off only applying to those programs I really liked so that I could focus more on those applications. It's easy to underestimate how much time those applications take. As for my GRE AW score, I focused more on studying for the V/Q sections since I knew those were my biggest weaknesses. I did study for the AW section, but I should've done more practice essays and read the prompts on the ETS website. If I have to reapply next year I'll consider retaking it.
  6. I applied to SAIS, SIPA, Georgetown MSFS, GW Elliott School, the Fletcher School, NYU, Michigan Ford School (the only MPP I applied to). So, not really any "safety" schools but I don't want to go to a safety school. Worse case, I'll re-apply next year. I'm more disappointed than bitter, as starting this two-week period on a positive note would've been ideal. Oh well. Here they are: GPA: 3.5 GRE V/Q/AW: 167/159/4.0 (I was shocked at the 4.0! I'm generally a good writer...) 3.5 years experience with a federal contractor I think that's decent enough at least.
  7. Arrggg...my first response and my first rejection. It wasn't one of my top choices, but still doesn't set a good tone for the 7 other letters I'll have to open over the next 2 weeks. For those reading this getting ready to apply for next year: I think my biggest weakness was my SOP - the word count for SIS's SOP was twice as long as all the others I wrote and I was so burnt out when I wrote it that I definitely didn't give it my all. Oh well, lesson learned. Congrats to everyone that made it!
  8. Hmmm...seems everyone that has been notified has been accepted. I'm going to stay positive and say this is just a coincidence or perhaps a biased sample.
  9. I applied to the International Econ Relations MA and haven't heard either. How am I supposed to concentrate at work knowing any second now that "Inbox (1)" could be the answer!?!
  10. For American SIS - I applied to the International Econ Relations program and haven't heard either. I submitted my application on the last day...my last name is at the end of the alphabet. I'm an American applicant - are those that received decisions all international?
  11. Based on last year's responses I'm thinking maybe next week
