@ Montrealer: Congrats. Hopefully Zee2012 will receive his/her own soon.

Zee2012 & Montrealer: remember to share on the thread when you get your acceptance from SFU. Keeping faith for you both.

@ Bloom2012 and SFU Crew, SFU off campus Housing may be the best bet to avoid scams. Will also be good if one can get across to current SFU students whether in MPH program on not. There could be people looking for room mates or they'll give insight and advice on areas to go off. Just my thoughts. Am also thinking sharing housemates (sharing of common areas but getting one room and bath each) to reduce cost. I guess its too early to be seriously hunting now for september move in. Though its better early than late.

Personally I prefer off campus. Though you may want to live away from home if its going to be a distraction in your studies.I'd say live at home if conducive for reading. As for commuting to school, 40mins is not bad since traffic is not heavy.

@ The SFU Crew: what's your take and plan on housing, Campus Residence or Off Campus? If off campus what's your plan to securing one? Please let's share thoughts on this. @ Montrealer and Zee2012: I see you reside in Canada so its going to be easier for you both. I know you may not be thinking of housing yet since you're yet to get your official acceptance but once you do, do share your plans and thoughts. You all can PM me if you don't want to share openly.

@ Bloom2012,Zee2012,Dentist24: Thanks a lot. @ Zee2012, Montrealer: your acceptance is on the way and its only in a little while since they've started rolling out to students accepted off the waitlist. Keep faith and hold out.

Got my admission offer from SFU yesterday. The email read " Dear ... I am pleased to inform you that the Senate Graduate Committee has approved your admission to the health sciences MPH in Simon Fraser University for the 2012 Fall Term ... "

@ Montrealer and All on the thread: Any news from SFU?
-
@ Montrealer: Zee2012 just expressed my fear. Wouldn't want to wait for nothing because I already have a Formal Admission Letter (email copy) from another school though am yet to accept cos they gave no deadline.I want to make an informed decision. Wouldn't want to accept and then later write in declining and asking to be released.SFU is my 1st choice though but with the delay, I really don't know. Also am an international student and will still apply for Visa. The embbassy in my country says their processing time is 3-4 months minimum before school/program classes start date. By this, am already behind. Thanks Montrealer let's know what information you got after you've placed a call to SFU.

@ Montrealer: Good to know its not just us but the waiting is no fun at all. Praying and keeping my fingers crossed.

@ Spinous and Dentist24: I received a mail from U of Saskatchewan as regards the conditional in my Admission Offer. They asked me to mail a certified Copy of my degree parchment from my Undergrad school confirming that the degree has been awarded and an Official Transcript from my Grad School in a sealed envelope. They didn't explain why I had to do this since I did submit Transcripts from both schools for my Applications. The conditional is not an issue to me though, I only need to send in a request to my schools and they'll mail it to them. @ Everybody on the Thread, am yet to receieve the Formal Admission Letter from the office of the DGS of Simon Fraser University.
-
@ Dentist24 and Spinous: Thanks for replying. Its so strange to me, my transcripts that they are asking for was submitted together with my Admissions Application Package so am wondering why they are still asking for it. Well I'll send them an email on Monday to let them know and find out why and if I still need to send in another one or maybe they'll go pull it out from my Application for Admissions Package.
-
@ Dentist24 and the whole U of Saskatchewan crew, I got an email from the CGSR today and one of the conditions for registration is to send my Official Transcripts to them. My question now is was everybody else given this same condition? Pls let me know.Thank You.

I got off the Waitlist of MPH Simon Fraser University. Am so happy as its my 1st choice and of course there's nothing like an acceptance from a school even if its a safety school and you eventually won be attending. Good Luck to those still waiting, keep your heads up high and for those who got rejected and have no Acceptance to any school, remember "If you don't succeed, dust yourself up and try again".

SFU students accepted off the Wait list, please remember to share when you receive any correspondence or the email copy of your Formal Admission Letter. Thank You All.
