  1. I think it depends on your department, but also on where you went for undergraduate and graduate school. I have taken coursework at the undergraduate and graduate levels at several institutions- public and private, small and large. I was truly amazed at how much the difficulty of the coursework varied, even within the same discipline. I do think TakeruK makes a good point about the more consistent workload in graduate school (until you're finishing up your thesis, of course!), and I think you also have more control over how you pace yourself, especially once your coursework is done.
  2. I did the M.Sc. in IR at LSE back in 1996-97, but I just wanted to say have fun and enjoy! I lived in an LSE residence hall, whose name escapes me (Rose-something, near the Angel tube station). It was very convenient - maybe a 20-30 minute walk, or a quick bus or tube ride. I remember it seemed to take about a half an hour to get anywhere in London, regardless of how close or how far it was. Feel free to send me a message if you want info on courses, etc., though I don't know how many of the faculty are still there now. Gosh, I feel old. Loved the library there! I could literally find something of interest of every single shelf. I would like to live in that library... Jenni

They're posted. I didn't get one. Best of luck to you all. http://www.aauw.org/learn/fellows_directory/upload/FGA-Awardees-2012-2013.pdf

I just saw on another site that the list of recipients will be posted on their website by the end of the day on April 13 (and letters sent by regular mail that day). See http://academicjobs.wikia.com/wiki/Dissertation_Fellowships_2012-13#AAUW_Dissertation_Fellowship. Presumably it will be the same for all AAUW grants? Two more days! Good luck to all! Jenni
  5. I wish I understood the Financial Aid formulas better. I got no grant money, but full Work Study, Perkins, and Stafford. I wish I could trade with some of you for the grant money! Jenni
  6. Are all of these "letters" delivered by email? Just wondering if I should be giving up for the day, since the mail was just delivered... Jenni
  7. I haven't. Maybe today...

I applied for the Career Development Grant, too. I am hoping they might notify us early. I believe they asked that you notify them if you did NOTget into your first choice school (and perhaps submit an amended budget narrative?). Good luck! I hope we all get funded!
  9. Dan, Which scholarship was it? Thanks! Jenni
