Anybody from SUNY Buffalo planning to decline? I have been on pins and needles for weeks now! As much as I'm willing to take their unfunded MA, getting off of the waitlist and into PhD would be a dream right now.

I agree with antecedent on this one; having received no offers of funding, I would KILL for Rutgers. Particularly for Victorian (which I applied for too), I think you'd be crazy to try for something "better." The Ivies ain't all they're cracked up to be

Yeah, I've reached that assumption, too. I just can't give up the hope because Penn State is the perfect location for me out of all of the schools I applied to and my other acceptances all have various issues that don't make them ideal. Getting into Penn State would mean I don't have to make any tough decisions

Has anyone heard anything yet? I'm starting to feel like they just take our application fees and sit around laughing at our stupidity. It's almost April!

Really anything at all. I'm planning to focus on Victorian studies and Queer theory, but I recently found out that Rachel Ablow, their Victorianist, just got a year-long fellowship and will be away. I guess I'm trying to decide whether the cheaper cost of living and tuition is worth it. I know the program is great anyway, which helps. I just hate having to make this decision without any way of seeing the place beforehand. I guess I need someone who can be my eyes?

I'm currently trying to decide between these two unfunded programs, but I have no way of visiting and truly gauging which one would be a better fit for me. Does anyone have any information at all about either of these schools? It would be sooo helpful.
