  1. Hi!! I will still be doing my MSW for sure! Just going to work until September:) Completing my MSW will definitely open up more doors for me, and I really wanted to go back to school to get it!
  2. Hello Everyone! I have been following along, and finally decided to speak up!! I got accepted into the 2-year MSW at Laurier, as well as the 1 year HBSW at Lakehead. After finding out that I was accepted to Laurier, I also got a job as a Support Clerk with the ODSP program. I have accepted this position as I think it will be great experience related to a field I want to get into! I am saying all this because I see some people are upset that they didn't get into a program or got waitlisted...I just wanted to say that I was in the same situation last year! I was so upset when I didn't get into the MSW programs I applied to (York and UofT), so I completely understand how you feel! Don't give up though! I tried again this year, and expanded the schools I applied to as well! Persistence really can pay off, so as hard as it is, don't give up. Everything starts coming together when you least expect it!
  3. Hi Track 22! I saw this as well...however it is not the regular track MSW deadline that has been extended. It is the MSW for working professionals! So if anyone is interested in the program and has 3 years of experience after their undergrad, then I believe you could apply! A plus for this program is that you can continue to work full-time while completing the program. It is also availabe in Peel region, Oshawa and Barrie!! Hope that helps
  4. Hi All, I also am waiting to hear from York. I had called in mid-March and whoever I spoke to said they have a lot of applications this year. She said she couldn't give me an exact date as to when we would we hear back, but she was hoping end of April (...). She did further state that it could take up to May-June. It is frustrating not knowing because I don't know what my plan of action will be until I hear back from York for sure...and Laurie I know what you mean when you're hoping they aren't going in alphabetical order..LOL that's one of the things that came to mind when I saw that people have been getting responses from March up until last week!!
  5. Hi Everyone, I have not posted previously but have been following along! Btw... I applied to U of T and York. Sadly, U of T rejected me and I have not yet heard from York. I'm pretty sure that won't work out either since they don't have many spots. My background is a BA (Soc/Psych) as well as an MA (in Health and Aging). I was above the cut-off and have 2.5 years with an assessment company...including completion of intakes with clients...so I was really disappointed when I found out U of T rejected me. I'm thinking of volunteering this year at an agency more directly related to the social services, which I hope will improve my application and then re-applying next year...But I also wanted to look into UBC...I wanted to know if anyone else has looked into applying to UBC Okanagan? I know a previous poster brought up that they may still be accepting applicants..I checked and they are...just wondering if anyone else was also looking there or if it is just me...lol
