Hi everyone. I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are on a 1st year Master degree student applying to a different school. Does this look bad to the adcomm people? The program I'm in is not exactly what I need. The one I applied to is more in line with my future endeavors and has much better opportunities for networking and job placement. So, what are people's thoughts? Have you switched programs after your 1st year? If I don't get accepted, I will most likely drop out of my current program and find a job (maybe re-apply next year). Thanks.

1. Parents: "Why don't you just try to work at the bank?" Well maybe because my field is Architecture, Urban Planning and Design!! 2. "What do you need ANOTHER degree for?" Well, now that a bachelors degree is useless in our world I need to go back and upgrade. 3. "Isn't this costing you money?" Why people ask this, I really don't know. And my answer is either "it's not your money. why do you care?" or " No its free, they are paying for my life."
