slpgrad620 Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 I was accepted into a school for fall 2017 and turned down the offer and didn’t attend any program due to personal reasons and therefore had to reapply for the fall 2018. I have an interview offer from that school that I was initially accepted to for the fall 2017 semester but I was wondering, if I go in for the interview, should I mention that I was accepted the first time? Maybe I’m thinking about it too much because I’m nervous but answers will be greatly appreciated and best of luck to everybody else waiting to hear back from all their schools! ??
DDolores Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 I'm leaning towards not bringing it up unless they do. Did you try to defer last year? If you did try and it just didn't work out or you couldn't defer, then you could bring your initial application up to emphasize that you've always known this school would be a great fit for you.

No I didn’t defer because I was dumb and didn’t know that there was an option to do so.. Thank you though!
jpiccolo Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 I probably wouldn't unless it comes up. i don't know that they will know or remember but can't hurt to be prepared to address it.

I had the same situation last year and asked about deferring; they stated this is not an option for speech pathology master's programs. It is usually just for undergrad due to the nature of the program.

Because the program that I’m applying to has the option for the graduate program, although you need permission if you did request deferral.
