Cornell CIPA MPA 2018

I have been browsing the forums for some time now but haven't found any applicants to Cornell CIPA 2018.

Has anyone heard from CIPA, or does anyone have an idea of what their timeline is this year? 

I submitted my application January 15 and I am waiting since then

I have heard of CIPA, and at one point considered applying there but heard from someone that it is geared more towards people interested in careers in academia than policy. Decisions for programs such as these are usually released mid March.

I am not sure if I agree with your thoughts. IMO, CIPA leans towards application on policy than theory. Their curriculum is so flexible and encourages a lot of hands-on experience, such as the capstone and consulting classes. Harris puts a heavier emphasis on theory just by looking at the curriculum. I know someone who's in Harris and she said the workload is super super heavy.

Again, I only base this off of what I heard from someone else considering the program. I do know that Cornell has an excellent undergraduate public/foreign policy program, so it makes sense that it would have a strong basis in policy & theory.

I applied back in November. I was invited to the Open House on 3/16 and I was told that they were in the process of determining fellowships and admitted applicants will be notified of the fellowship information on or before 3/1.

How much funding did they give you? I am still waiting for funding information

Submitted application on Jan. 18th, submitted video interview on Jan. 27. Still waiting for the decision. Keep fingers crossed.

@BoscoNot a ton of funding ($18k per year) but that was expected as CIPA is said to be a more affordable degree and Ithaca isn't as expensive as other cities. Trying to wait to hear back from my other schools to negotiate funding.

I am in the same situation, I received a similar amount of funding ($16K per year) and I am waiting to hear from other programs

My application's status is still  "Ready for review, will be notified before or on 1st March"

I am getting worried as still haven't received any word from CIPA and 1st March is two days away.

Yes, I did. And I just saw an announcement on the Cornell website saying that the university would be closed on March 2 because of the winter storm. I guess maybe it's the reason why their decisions are delayed.
