Hi everyone,

I'm very excited to have been admitted to the MedSLP program for Fall 2018, but I was wondering if anyone has any inside perspective into the program...I could really use some advice about if the program is worth the cost of tuition/the astronomical cost of living in Seattle. I am certainly mostly interested in pursuing work in the medical setting, so the MedSLP program is obviously quite appealing in that sense, but I need help justifying paying so much to attend Seattle vs. any other school.

If anyone currently attends UW-Seattle or knows someone who does, please share your experiences! My other choice will be to attend a state school with in-state tuition, and I'm very conflicted about what to do.

Thanks so much in advance!

Congratulations on your acceptance! :) I'm a current postbac at UW, and I spent a lot of time talking to faculty/staff and current students about the 2 tracks when I was working on my application. Obviously I don't have as much info as someone who actually went through the Med program, but maybe I can still answer some questions? Feel free to send me a message (is that a thing on here) or respond with specific questions you may have! At the very least, I've lived in Seattle for awhile now and am happy to answer questions about that aspect of choosing UW. (Spoiler alert: I love it here, but it is indeed expensive.) If I don't have answers, I'll ask around - one of my fellow research assistants is about to graduate from the Med program. Let me know! :)
