phdmang Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 (edited) Hey everyone, I'm thinking of applying for my PhD in management at two very different schools, McGill University in Canada (Desautels) and Rice University (Jones) in the US. Does anyone here have any insight as to which might be better program? I will likely only apply to these two, and perhaps 2-3 other schools. Thanks! Edited April 21, 2018 by phdmang
SMaric Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Hi phdmang, I used this ranking as my benchmark when I applied for MGMT PhDs: http://www.tamugarankings.com/rankings/2017-2/?utm_source=Mays+Faculty%2FStaff%2FPh.D.+Students+from+website&utm_campaign=886d49dc84-Mays+Weekly_Oct_30_2017_&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_82ed221d8e-886d49dc84-350033561&mc_cid=886d49dc84&mc_eid=37440a5407 However, there are a few caveats: 1. The ranking does not include non-academic journals such as HBR. 2. The ranking is a composite index of all top MGMT journals. Since I did strategic management, I had to be more precise. Nevertheless, Rice ranks quite favorably in key metrics so that's a great sign.
