gradguy22 Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 (edited) Hey! I am an international student who's got admission in Cornell's master's program. In my final year of undergraduate studies, my GPA has dropped by 0.11 from a 3.41 to a 3.3 because I took electives which were pretty tough and couldn't cope. Could this be a cause for concern? Will the grad school rescind my application? Honest answers would be appreciated Edited July 24, 2018 by gradguy22
E-P Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 I've never heard of such a thing happening. Unless your offer was contingent upon something besides graduation (like maintaining a particular GPA), they wouldn't have a contractual reason to do so.
gradguy22 Posted July 24, 2018 Author Posted July 24, 2018 The admission letter had a contingency that I should successfully complete my degree (which I have done) with academic performance comparable to my performance till date. Does this qualify?
Sandmaster Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Yeah I agree with E-P. It is very rare they would rescind an offer of admission. Unless you did not graduate with the bachelor's degree (an admission requirement), or your GPA was just so terrible (like a 1.0) for your last term/year, I would seriously doubt they would rescind the offer.
