Post Declines and Acceptances?

Recommended Posts

If anyone's still waiting it out, yesterday and today I declined offers from Ohio State, Illinois U-C, UW-Seattle, CUNY, and took name off waitlist at Brandeis. The UIUC offer was a fellowship.

I'll be attending USC!! Very excited!

That's great to hear! Though I didn't reply in that thread, that's where I secretly was hoping you'd go.

I declined an unfunded offer from the University of Washington MA/PhD program (since it's unfunded the deadline was May 15th - I would have declined sooner but couldn't figure out how, or who to contact!).

I also declined a fully-funded + fellowship offer from the UC-Davis PhD program. Somewhat painfully - everyone there was so lovely!

Hello again!

Regardless of what you're doing today, congrats on surviving to see the sun rise on April 15th!

I declined fully funded offers from Boston College (a few minutes ago) and West Virginia (on Tuesday). I am also taking my name off the waitlists at Northeastern and the University of New Hampshire. I accepted an offer from the University of Florida. I hope this helps some of you out! Goodluck to those still waiting!

Finally decided - I just accepted an eleventh-hour offer from WUSTL.

I turned down UC Irvine, which seemed like a really wonderful and friendly program and had almost as much of a funding package as Washington University in St. Louis. It was definitely a sad and difficult decision, but I couldn't say no to the job placement record at WashU.

I hope that UC Irvine will continue accepting from their waitlist after the April 15th deadline - I know they have one, because I was admitted from it myself. Best of luck to everyone still waiting. I firmly believe that hell will, somehow, feature waitlists in its retinue of tortures.

  • 3 weeks later...

I just asked the University of Florida (unfunded) to defer my admission decision to Fall 2011. I think that it would probably be better for me to turn it down. It's not my top choice school and maybe I can free up the spot for someone else. My top choice (Arizona State) has not gotten back to me, yet.
