Declining Stonybrook and University of Washington Seattle (no 1st year funding), hopping off Northeastern and U Wisc Milwaukee waitlists

And the reality of waitlists are setting in for me. I have declined all but Stony Brook, but even after others have declined Tufts and WashU in St. Louis, no word from the adcomms. I will keep holding on until the last minute, but happy to be at Stony Brook if that's the case.

Just accepted an early modern spot at Princeton. (I know the "already attending" bit is confusing--Princeton accepted me last year, I went somewhere else and decided to reapply to Princeton, and they let me in again. Weirdness.)

Oh, I should mention that I didn't have anywhere to decline, because I applied only to Princeton this year. Long story.

Hi everyone! New to the boards, but I hope some of this will help others:

Just accepted University of Louisville

Declined with full funding: University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Bowling Green State U, Ball State U, Arizona State Univ.

Mind you I am Rhetoric and Composition.

Just a shout out to all in Louisville - PM me if you are going or have advice for me on where to live! :) Moving from South Texas.

Happy Day to all of you!

I accepted at Miami University yesterday!

I declined Bowling Green, University of Nebraska, Virginia Tech, and Louisville (all with full funding).

Also removed my name from the waitlist at Ohio State

Hope this helps some other PhD rhetoric and composition people! Good luck!

I accepted at Duke!

I also turned down offers from Virginia (President's Fellowship), NYU, and Hopkins. I know that there are several people waiting anxiously on the first two, so hopefully the good news keeps on coming!

YAY! Congrats! Duke's a fantastic program (though I'm glad to see that NYU made you an offer as well). You were innudated with good options...but I'm not surprised that Duke rose to the top on your list.

Thanks! I would hardly call myself inundated (you, on the other hand, can certainly claim that honor), but it was definitely a tough call. NYU was both very tempting and very persistent, but I think it worked out for the best—and I'm so glad that you, too, got what you wanted this cycle!
