Why is there not a database of all schools' application deadlines, sorted by program?

Ternwild

Question

As the title says, why has no one created a website for all the deadlines for applications, sorted by program?   And if there is, someone tell me what it is.  Most of you will be thinking that it is because it is very time consuming, but it is easily something that can be written and designed for community imput.  Meaning, you can let users submit the deadlines to the schools they are applying to.  That way it allows for the most accuracy, despite the occassional troll.  I mean, there's clearly a community of us who are willing to do things like that...this website being a great example of that.

Software engineers, where are you on this one?

I know there are similar, though less advances, versions of this for some programs. For example, Newpages and Poets & Writers have databases for English folks. It would be excellent if there were a consistently updated and inclusive list of all graduate programs. I would be willing to to turn off adblock for that ?

There's also a thread on here for funding packages in my program. Maybe all it takes is starting a thread with a link to a Google Doc. People could add tabs for program types and list programs within. I am sure many people would contribute!

If someone wants to start a Google Sheet to crowdsource this, we can take the data and create a simple tool which will allow users to easily find app deadlines.

For this to work well, we'll need consistent school / program names(which we can provide a starting point).

The only issue with a Google Sheet is the risk of trolls deleting all the data.  That said, where should we post this sheet to get the word out about it?
